My uncle..Born on North Hull estate lives about 30 miles south of Hamilton. He's a City fan and tries to get to games when he comes over.
I've been to Hamilton. Big steel works by Lake Ontario and a metal bridge on the QE on the way into Toronto.

Tell you something those great lakes are more like seas.

I have the details of a City fan who lives there who would like to get in touch with others in the area.

Well I think you're onto something...30 miles away in Canadian terms is next door!

1 hours drive away in Toronto (40 miles - but the traffic getting in/out out Toronto is bad).
Used to live 25 miles away in Port Credit. As dennis suggests, it's bugger all in Canadian terms.
Think nothing of driving 30 miles each way for a round of golf a couple of times a week over here.

PS: Omega - thought that might have been you in your gear (scuba ?) on Hamilton beach on the other thread <laugh>

Back in the day, we'd drive from Regina to Calgary or Edmonton and back on a weekend to play games. Kinda like driving from Hull to Paris and back for a game.

Actually, currently in Calgary for a couple of days on business. Wonder if Calgary Tiger is around.

I was in Edmonton and a local asked if we wanted to go to some drag racing with them, regular trip...it was only a 17 hour drive!

I really liked staying in Toronto last year, and felt quite at home with the River Humber, Castle York, Squirrels (although i had never seen black ones before), cold weather, passing through Grimsby on the train down to Niagara. Will certainly be back again, but first we are having a trip down the other side taking in Vancouver and such like.

I'd love to visit Canada. We tried to do the Rocky Mountain Railway as a part of our honeymoon way back, but we were just out of season. Hear nothing but positive things about Canada. One of my mates spent a year in Seattle at Uni and he used to drive up to Vancouver. He's well travelled and he still says it is one of his favourite places on the planet.

Also, my great great grandfather stowed away to Canada, not once but twice. He spent some 20 odd years over in Canada in total in various locations before finally returning to the UK to settle down. I'm sure he must have some offspring over the Atlantic somewhere ;)

I'd like to go to Iceland too. My sister went a few years ago to see the Northern Lights. Some of the pictures she brought back were incredible.

Tokyo is amazing. Similar to the world we live in, but noticeably not the same.

I've travelled a lot and Tokyo is the only place I've visited that seems like it's on a different planet.

It looks exceptional, I reckon they'll have a great time. Icelanders seem a friendly bunch. We didn't get too much barracking by the Iceland football fans that watched the Engkand v Iceland game in the same pub as us <laugh>
