    Good Morning Everyone,

A crowd of just over 8000 (Leeds lowest in over a decade) witnessed Chris Wood score five minutes from time to progress to the fourth round of the League Cup.

    Here's the goal

    Was Wood lucky?

Would you say he connected with the ball well?

Should the keeper have saved it?

Who do we want in the next round?

You always have to ride your luck at times, but are Leeds becoming better defensively?

I got to thinking about Chris Wood, and how good he actually is?

I understand that he was bought as a 3m player, and in today's world 3m does not get you very far but....

Let's take Beckford as an example, surely, he was never more than a 3m player (or was he?) and the way he hit the wall was a lot better than Wood.

    Agree or not?

Strikers make their own luck and pleased he is now on 6 for the season and 3 in the last 3 games. Roofe should have scored at least 2 last night but there were signs of his confidence coming back later in the game. he will sureley score before long.

Great result and we could get Man Utd at ER that would fill the place. No great expectations of doing anything in the cup except make a bit of cash for the club and help to gell the squad for the run up to Xmas.

We have a back 4 now that must be one of the best in the league. We also have o'Kane and Bridcutt shining and having these 2 in tandem in the middle is another exiting prospect. So 6 players there who pick themselves with Baradi to come back and Wood scoring. You got to be happier than anytime for years.

Beat Ipswich and we will really be on a roll, because lets face it we have struggled against this team since Big Mick took over. He has no money but still manages to grind out results because he is a top manager. Gary Monk please learn from this bloke.

What are you on about hitting walls. Has sniffer taken over the morning debate or are you actually a dual account. I always welcome a win but that's nothing more than a preseason friendly. As for people saying about the extra cash a cup run brings. We probably made a considerable loss on last nights game. Time to end that competition completely. Anyway three in a rows not bad and on to a bogey team at weekend but I think we might have sorted our defensive woes so any game becomes winnable when keeping clean sheets

Beckford was a £10m player when he left us because thats what was paid. He needed a lot of chances per goal ratio, but because he created a lot for himself and got on the end of a lot created for him, he scored a lot. he was never a prem striker because he was able to be stopped by top defenders positional play. But he was Evertons to scorer and was always played on the wing and was usually sub. Moyes could have done something with him and Big Duncan whos at Everton now would have been great for him. Sadly JB's best days are behind him now.

Maybe Monk should watch some fottage of how Grayson set up to get the ball to JB and how wing play did it. We are fairly average with our final ball as was seen last night

Wether the goalkeeper should have saved it is immaterial. Wood was in the position he should have been in and he intended to put the ball in the net. It does not matter that it was not a clean strike it was a goal. Well done Woody. Good morning all.

Eire the next round will see a big crowd if at home mate and we could fill ER if a top scalp. Thats where the cash comes from

Morning Doc, you say we have one of the best defences in the League, do you mean the Championship?

On paper, I'd have to say top 5. Not sure they they have gone from leaking goal to not though.

We used to struggle against Cardiff, now we have beaten them at their place two seasons running.

Beradi, Ayling, Coyle, Taylor, Bartley, Cooper, Jannson. - You have 7 players who are fast and capable of shutting the doors. Beraidi, bartley, Jannson and Taylor is our best 4 and any champoionship club would love to have them.

Its not just about these 4 or 7 being on top of their game, its about cutting out mistakes. Monk has started to stop the errors and we can see the difference. Clean sheets mean a chance to win

    Morning all.

Last night definitely had the feel of a pre season friendly.
We looked very comfortable all night and Blackburn offered very little threat at all. I know they were a changed team last night but if I were a Blackburn fan I would be very very worried right now.
My one criticism of Leeds last night would be that they overplayed the ball a little when on the attack.
The seemed to be looking for the next pass even when in a shooting position. Dare I say they were trying to walk it in like arsenal.

Should the 8,488 who attended last night get first choice on tickets for the next round? As already stated if we were to get the scum or Chelsea etc the place would be full.

Wood is a bit of a jammy ****er isn't he? Fair play though, his job is to get in them positions and make sure the ball ends up in the back of the net and he's doing that.

In relation to Beckford, he was the most frustrating player I've ever watched (I loved the guy so not slagging him off). He would not only miss decent chances he'd miss numerous 1 on 1s before he'd score. Fortunately for him his pace would usually give him 5 sitters a game. Did score some absolute screamers tho sometimes.

Morning all... Just had a read up on WJs match report. Can't understand some of the decisions still, Mowatt on the right and then pushing O'Kane to play up front part of the match? Happy with the win, the clean sheet and Wood scoring.

At the end of the season you will look at Woods goals scored tally and ratio and remember that figure, not how they were scored. I still think we should play stronger squads, a cup run is often a welcome distraction.

A home tie against a top team would more than make up for the low crowd yesterday. Shame it won't be Man U they are getting knocked out live on Sky tonight by my home team Northampton.

Morning all. A win's a win. Stylish flick from Wood. Real class that. Clearly confused the 'keeper. Anyway, keeps us in the competition, and offered Monk the chance to look at some of the squad whilst not risking injury to the likes of Janson.

Realise that Doc but there are a couple of big ifs in there. It has to be a top scalp and at home so about a 20% chance of that happening. At this stage, if a top scalp itll still be their reserves, so forgive me for my lack of excitement about the competition. Its right up there with the JPT with me im afraid

Expect Janson to pick up a few of these illnesses for unimportant matches. Club mightnt want him clocking up his 20 games too quick and having to sign him permanently <whistle>

Morning Eire. The sooner we get Janson on a long contract the better. Best CB we've had in years (although I know that's not saying much!!!)
