Didn't expect that result this morning...cracking Jo Murphy goal...OTBC. Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Naismith's family joined him in Norwich this week, so perhaps we might start seeing more of him? Hope so, as the Everton fans do not applaud every ex player who score against them with quite the same respect. Edit - course it's been mentioned - there's a whole thread. Note to self: Read more before posting...
Josh's goal is a worldie! He ran in to trouble and gave away the ball a lot, especially the first half, maybe needs to work on decision making. He reminded me a lot of Wes the first season he joined when he use to frustrate. The goal however, shows the class and confidence he's got. He needs more games in the league to sharpen up his decision making. Knowing when to do it himself, and when to pass. That's something Jacob seems to have already.
I REALLY feel that if the twins are properly handled (and signed up to new contracts quickly), they could go on to become real stars for us in the future. Isn't that 2 in 2 for Josh and both sites from outside the box?????
I really hope contracts are on the table already. They will only get better and if we wait, interest will increase, their stats will go up and will command a much higher contract.
Ronald Koeman talking after the game after the Toffees unbeaten start in the league! "We don't organise parties after 13 points out of five games and we don't cry after tonight. It's football and we have to accept it."
Any chance of Jacob and Josh playing against Burton, do you reckon? Respect to BA but it's a game where AN can perhaps afford to be a tad more adventurous. As opposed to Wolves and Newcastle which follow that
Looks like Jez Moxey will be a busy man next spring - though in some instances, I'd be inclined to discuss renewal deals sooner rather than later. As in JM and JM! http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/norwich-city/vertragsende/verein/1123
Gosh, reading that, he certainly is going to be busy. I'd definitely be inclined to let Whittaker go, but keep most of the others - ESPECIALLY the Murphy twins!!! Edit - having watched the highlights, I think some referees would have given Everton a penalty when the ball hit Whittaker's arm.
Fill yer boots - when was the last time a ref gave lil ol' Nodge the benefit of the doubt? Here's a match report written by a Blue - you'll never guess who he deemed MOTM! http://toffeeweb.com/season/16-17/comment/reports/33570.html
I don't EVER remember us getting the benefit of the doubt!!!! I must read/buy an EEN today to see what ratings our players get from PD!!! The fact that Naismith got a mention on BBC Breakfast that all the Everton fans stood and applauded his goal shows how they liked him. When last did we win 4 consecutive games???????????????? From today's EDP - "The message was go out there and it make it hard for me to pick the team and everyone, to a man, has worked their socks off and we stuck to our game-plan well,” Murphy added." I'm hoping for a convincing win on Saturday and that should set us up nicely for the trip to SJP on Wednesday, as we owe them some 'payback' after last season's drubbing!!!!
Never a penalty in a million years, are referee's beginning to to think for themselves and not do what pundits think or say?
If Brian Clough can pay a fortune for Justin Fashanu on the basis of one inspired piece of play -urely we can get our act together to secure the services of the two JMs we already have!!!!
One of the pundits on sky, who has probably never seen Josh Murphy before tonight, was saying having seen the goal that we'd be lucky to keep hold of him. What does he know ? Don't get me wrong he played well and it was a really good goal, but ..........
That has already crossed my mind to be honest. He has started the season well and been impressive considering it is his first season of league football. Additionally I think people will be tracking him as he is already showing the potential we thought Redmond was going to bring. Yes - I think he is that good, the same as when I saw Chris Sutton play his debut for us and I was right that time.
Yes carrow, but he's done it twice now, with his screamer against Cardiff as well. Having said that, he's a LONG way from the finished article and let's hope we can develop the twins where we failed miserably with Redmond.
