Went to watch these boys last night, and they were brilliant - very raw energy, like a punked up Arctic Monkeys......
My good friend Billy Franks from the Faith Brothers was found dead at his home in Fulham by his daughter today Steelmonkey. No one knows why or how yet. I was only playing guitar with him a few weeks ago. I'd just thought I'd let you know mate.
Mate, very sad news, sorry to hear this being you were also a mate! My thoughts and condolences go out to the ones close he has left behind. At least he will be remembered by many for years having given many the joy of the gift of music. Billy Franks now jamming at the great gig in the sky... RIP!
Cheers for letting me know Mr 999s....I will always have an enduring memory of that day back in '85 when they opened The Longest Day, my first all day open sir gig. Sad news pal, hope it was all natural and he didn't suffer in any way - must be hard for his family to have found him that way. Please feel free to pass my condolences on to them. They're in this clip from that day, at 0:22 RIP Billy
Ok, further to our discussion about the 70/80s, I thought i'd post some of my favourite tracks from those halcyon days, starting with these songs from 1977 (I was 15)...
