I also have asthma and now have COPD (so another inhaler to be taken everyday) as a result of smoking 30 a day for 20 years.......been given up 9 years next month. I gave up using just willpower alone after many attempts using gum, plastic cigs and patches....for me none worked. Give up soon mate and you will realise it will be the best thing you do, think of the improved health, money and believe it or not you will smell a whole let better......smoke stinks. Good luck and do it soon
Well done, Richie - I know how tough it is to give up, but would urge anyone to go for it. Try the e-cigs if nothing else works - I believe (not sure I'm completely convinced, but have a good friend who tells me it's so - she's an e-cig user) they're much better for you and help wean you off the addiction.
Cheers mate and congrats to you, shows it can be done! My Dad has COPD as well (also a smoker) but it does concern me that I'm on the same inhalers as him despite him smoking for 40 odd years n me being 30 years his junior. I've got a lot closer in recent years. At the stage now where I don't even enjoy 9/10 of them, just the odd one that's bliss. I also have some days where I'll only have 2 in an entire day n others where I'll have 10. So it's massively reduced in the last year or so, it's just that, as with any addiction, the final steps are the hardest.
Just got an email from an artist looking to be managed - "I've been on a management deal for 10 months with a company that have invested £72k as a development project into the band, but during that time they have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for us".... Errr.....
"We are brilliant, it is just the buying public, record producers and our management team who are ****"
Well, to be fair, XTC were absolutely brilliant, and it was just the buying public, record producers and their management team who were ****.
Listening to TMNC, in the background, from last night on Radio 5. Danny Mills has been talking about the difference between emotional and intellectual intelligence, in reference to Joey Barton. I'm going to have cut Mills some slack if he comes out with nuanced stuff like that. Andy Townsend [he's becoming a MNC regular now that Steve Claridge is a bit too busy managing Salisbury] is also showing he can articulate some common sense. Which has been another nice surprise.
Do Everton have an aversion to participating in the League Cup as they have a history of going out at very early stages in many a season? Are Liverpool great or are Derby very poor. I think the truth lies towards the latter.
Cannot believe Liverpool fans are so excited given that they have won this rather non descript tournament many times in the past. They should go out early and give someone else ( Southampton) a chance of winning this trophy.
His accent is strangely pleasant to listen to. One of the very few commentators I do enjoy listening to.
In reality it would give me much greater pleasure for Saints to progress a long way in the Europa League than reaching the League Cup Final
