A few positives from the game yesterday: Pickford - thought his distribution was the worst I've seen but his keeping was fantastic. That tip round the post from Lamella was world class! Cattermole got a full 90 (didn;t do anything wrong either that I could see) Kirchhoff getting back to fitness N'Dong looks a player between the former 2 and the front line Manquillo massively improved on Monday's showing Kone and Papy looked solid mostly Most expected us to get hammered - we didn't - that's got to be a plus
Seen some negativity on here but I can see a few positives from last night's performance: Pickford - looking a class keeper. Was disappointed with his distribution yesterday but he was probably a little pissed off with a lack of movement in front of him Manquillo - poor against Everton (but Bolasie was very good - watched Bolasie on Saturday against Boro and he couldn't cross to save his life! Kone and Papy - Looked pretty good in Central defence for the most part. Threat came from the left wing almost every time Catts - Full 90 for him - nothing spectacular but did nowt wrong either Kirchhoff - classy player in every sense - great footballer and hope we can get him fully fit N'Dong - surprise package - good pressing, good passing, stupid haircut (I may be just jealous cos I'm bald though!) Januzaj - I'm going to say a little bit of positive - he looks like a player we need to get on the ball - when he got the ball he almost created a goal with some fantastic footwork. So there we have it - plenty of things to work on but some positive thoughts for a Monday morning
In the circumstances, 0-1 at WHL isn't a bad result. We are not the only team who are going to lose there this season. In any case, who wants that winning feeling in September - it's really over-rated. Do you ever see other supporters raving about their great September day comeback, or superb August thrashing . However, come October 1st, we must get a win over West Brom Oh where are the October Mags - can't rely on them for anything
Aye , but that's still September - don't want to break the habit of (what seems to be) a lifetime ! There is a chance though -- if I put my last penny on the draw or away win..........
please log in to view this image Positive? While watching the match, I was thinking that Pickford will be the one to knock Neuer off of the hill. Can someone sneak one of these ^^^^ into the AOL. Then, let me know how far Pickford can kick it. I haven't seen the last 30 minutes of yesterday's match yet, but wasn't Pickford the only player to complete a pass to Defoe?
Bloody computer!!!! I lost it - couldn;t see it at all so did it again and then they both pop up!!!!!!
The main positive for me was that I'm becoming convinced that Pickford is the real deal. Without any Sunderland bias I genuinely believe that he looks like a top keeper in the making.
The only negatives i'm are seeing in our situation as a whole is the lack of ability and options, but that was issue for the transfer window. Don't believe the players should bear the brunt of that so the lads on the pitch are getting my full support.
Acknowledge ya tags for starters When i tag all 3 mods to lock one of my threads. I dont expect to be blanked like a piece of ****. Not just aimed at you marcus. @marcusblackcat @grandpops @Blunham Mackem
Comm, just seen this and there's no flag coming up top right corner. I saw a tag the other week and hadn't noticed the flag then either. I just assumed I'd already seen it. Looks like the tags aren't working. For me anyway. What about you @marcusblackcat , @grandpops ? If you guys don't reply to this then maybe it's not working for you either?
Yeah I didn't see a tag top right. Just gone through my notifications and it's not there I only replied because I've got a notification of an update on my thread
Sunderland this season have failed to beat Manchester City, Everton and Spurs, as have every other team that has played them
Pickford: Considering he had something like 30 shots to contend with, i thought the lad looked brilliant and kept us in the game. Had no chance for the goal and must be well pissed off after a performance like that. Catts - Kirchhoff: Both played really well and we are beginning too see what class Jan has to offer, at times his passing is sublime. Both faded in the second half, but to be expected i suppose. Will only get better but expect they won't both start when we're at home, or they will and we'll play a different formation. Ndong: looked full of energy and will come good, that game was a massive learning curve for him but he's young and will learn fast. Looked solid in the tackle and willing to bona forward and always looking for the ball. Manquillo: Didn't do anything wrong that io could see, would still prefer him back at RB with PVA at LB. Likes to get down the wing like PVA and has decent pace, just needs to get to grips with the pace of the league. Januzaj: Agree with the positives, but doesn't do enough when he doesn't have the ball. Not a big problem in Man Utd's team, big problem for us as we need 11 players pulling together. Only saw him go in for 1 tackle and could have gone for at least half a dozen. Kahzri: No positives for me. Gave the ball away consistently and didn't do enough to get it back, Moyes needs to iron that out on the training pitch before thinking about bringing him back in. We're badly missing Borini's energy and Defoe needs help up front, or at least a decent supply to him as right now it's none existent. Just my two penneth worth.
I agree but it was just the manner how we conceded that goal!!!! But if only Piennar had converted that chance I must also say that I think Piennar had a great game for he age all he done was chase the ball around and he was always handing out advice and saying well done.
