Another good performance that, like the Arsenal and Prague game, could have been so much better, with more calmness in front of goal.
We're getting there, and should have little to fear at the taxpayers stadium, next weekend.

Enjoyed my fat boy breakfast at the farmhouse this morning :)
Nice to catch up with Vin and Vin Jr. and Dave today as well.....myself and the wife were discussing the game on the train home when she mentioned I have taken her once this season and 4 times last season and that we won every game.
Anyone think I should bring her again?

No, wasn't me but........Cork did play well, I don't think he gave the ball away once. I also happen to think Clasie played well; possibly his best to date.

No you shouldn't. However, if she can get herself to Didcot Parkway, I'd be happy to drive her down while you're on shift ;)

I thought Clasie had played himself in and was just starting to impose himself on the game when he came off. No complaints about the subs though, they worked.

I'd like to give you a rest actually. Try one of the younger lads on the League Cup thread, to keep you fit for either Europa or game against West Ham in the league.

Good game, much more promising. Concerns are that against a team with more teeth we would have drawn or even lost. We can't keep saying 'its not our day' those chances should have been put away.

Please start Austin he works well with Redmond. Also a lot more mobile than Pelle and was dragging defenders around.

Good game and what a relief to get a result. Fair play to the manager, perfect subs at the right time. Plenty of fluffed chances there, I'll cut Redmond some slack, he was desperate to score that goal but just snatched at it. Inexperience showing.

Its very rough for people to be singling him out because he's not a striker because as far as I can see nobody is anything till they've done it for a period of time. Shane Long will miss more chances this season and nobody is calling him out as not a striker.

Romeu was brilliant again today he has a renewed vigour about him under Puel and its great to see, Barca and Chelsea didn't sign him up for fun, he's got potential to be world class with a chance.

I'm going to disagree with some on here that Clasie is brilliant. I've been nurturing a bad feeling about him and its not going away, he does a job but he creates very little and is prone to giving the ball away. In the early part of the game I thought he was clueless. He did nothing. Davis and Clasie together are the dullest midfield combo we have.

Anyway, obligatory complaints done. We were excellent at times, effective at others. We got the win. Hoo-ray.

Also to the fans in the Northam who started singing for Charlie after Redmond's miss...please don't return. Many thanks.

This so much. The morons around me were saying Les Reed needs his head examined for signing some donkey. <doh>

There was just no need for it.

Injured, having a scan on his leg tomorrow. Shame for him, as he was starting to look good.

His name is Cuco, Cuko Martina
And if you give him half a chance he'll hit a screamer

MOTD pick out Redmond for being influential and making things happen in the final third. I agree, he was a handful for them.
