Can anyone shed any light on the issue of why Shearer's statue stayed unfinished for some time.
AS mentioned that Newcastle put a hold on it for a while for some reason.

 

I thought it was paid for my the Shepherd family. I'm not sure the club had anything to do with this statue as it's not on the club's grounds?

Googled it yesterday. Shearer said something to the daily mail about Ashley binning it after Freddie sold him the club.
