So you think our central midfielder not tracking his runner and a defender going to ground far too easily is excusable?
Yes, because they are human and playing against other good players.
When one of your players finds himself in acres of space to run in on goal is it because of poor defending or great attacking?
Are Coutinho and Firmino very clever players who find space and play great passes or are all defenders a bit **** because they don't track runners or stop the passes being made?

Yep, many of you are.
I was just sat here thinking to myself that some need to find a reason to blame somebody for a goal conceded yet, every goal scored is put down to fantastic attacking play.
Give the opposition attack some credit for what they do and try to accept that sometimes a goal is made by the opposition and not just by Liverpool attackers.

On this...and I haven't been on your board for a while...what is the discussion like with you lot?

I've watched most of your games and it feels similar..first year with a managers first buys..bit of doubt about how some players are being used. Sat with 5 mancs last night and all critical of a different player...one critical of how Mourinho is using them....

In your opinion is Mourinho making do in areas until he gets his man?

Personally thought he was intolerant of that idea in the past..he wanted to buy the best not coach it...that's not a criticism...facing facts if you have the money to keep buying until you get thete; why would you not?

yes probably...

The reaction to the mistake is important. Lucas cocked up terribly last game and the team went on to just get more goals.

In this game the errors lead to a goal and we clung on then get comfortable in the game again.

However ideally the terrible cock ups don't occur. As was said on sky they goals are not from pressure.. they are from nowhere.. just inexplicable throw on in at random times of the game and we are all kind of just wondering ok whens the other shoe falling here...

If someone fouled like lucas did and willian fired in a free kick or hazard we'd just say ok fair play but thats not what's been happening.
Did you see Hazard doing an Ashley Young and throwing his left leg out to ensure 'contact'.................wasn't a foul at all

There's a difference between players interchanging, fluid movement, finding spaces vs a guy running through our midfield, unopposed, no pressure and then rounding a defender who didn't need to go to ground.

Was referring more to defensively - it's unfair because attackers can get away with making mistakes I.e missing a few sitters etc but just need a goal to make up for it.

Defenders can play well for 89 mins but make one mistake which leads to a goal and it costs the team.

So you expect robots? Players make errors, it's about minimising risk. Three errors in 10seconds is what raked in Chelsea's goal, not one individual error.

It's only an Ashley Young if his legs were perfectly straight and in a V position, otherwise it's just a Rooney

Personally I think he is waiting to ease people out who would be hard to drop (in some supporters eyes) whilst trying to keep up with the early leaders.
I don't see Rooney playing in 10 games time (unless he suddenly goes back to his form of 5 or 6 years ago), Fellaini is in the team because we are not firing up front and he gives extra protection at the back so helps keep clean sheets.
Maureen is using them ok set up wise, just not the right players. Martial is well off form but a fans favourite so initially he is keeping his place (Rashford could end up there), Miki is a better 10 than Rooney (another fans favourite) but needs to get used to the league (Lingard as back up). Pogba needs to get used to the pace of the league (he still looks like he did when he left to me, which is why he wasn't guaranteed game time) but if he settles, will have a free role/box to box. Unless Schneiderlin or Herrera step up I can see us looking for a DM in January since Carrick and Schweinsteiger seem to have been classed as past it (unless Blind ends up there).
Defence and obviously keeper are fine (Valencia has really grown into the role of RB).

In short, (to me) he is trying to keep the fans on side while building the team he wants. I hope this is an indication that he sees it as a long term job and not just another 3 year pay cheque.

So the DM ending up at the LHS of the area at the byline wasn't interchanging or fluid movement?
Who was supposed to be marking Costa by the way, surely he must come in for some stick for letting him get a shot on goal?

chavs don't play in a way that let him do all the things he was so good at with Leicester so he's basically a bystander in a team full of egos and arrogance ... hell knows maybe that's why he went there
He is an excellent DM, the things he does is make interceptions, close down quickly, win tackles and play the ball forward very well. What stops him doing these things in the way Chelsea play?
