Can't understand people voting for Jak, thought he was disappointing today. Definitely at fault for the 1st, made some good saves but you expect any keeper to make them. Also Maguire isn't a PL centre half or anything close to one.
Agree completely. Only the second full match I have watched this season with both being standouts. Interesting watching Mason's debut. Looked ok but thought he could have have made a better effort to move towards Granit Xhaka before he unleashed his thunderbolt.
Clucas.. by a country mile .. in fact was the bright spot on an otherwise disappointing day Meyler.. for his sheer work rate although his passing leaves a lot to be desired at times A very distant 3rd .. Jakapovic .. made some good saves but unfortunately for me was responsible for the 1st .. and could have done better for the fourth. I thought Maguire did ok as did Davies given the midfield seemed to be overrun at times .. and Mason and Mbokani showed glimpses of what's to come.. I suspect changes will be made in the next two games and tbh I don't envy Mike Phelan but he has choices at his disposal and now has to use them for me.
Clucas - outstanding Snodders - a constant threat Harry - we seemed to step up a gear with distribution from the back when he came on Mbokani looked quick when he came on and Mason seemed to add a bit of zing to the midfield. Thought Dio would be taken off sooner rather than later, he's had enough chances now so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up on the bench for the next few games to give Mason or Mbokani more of a run - although that obviously depends on what formation Phelan decides to go with.
It will be great to see how well Sam does if he's given the chance to do both roles of a CM player. That's attack and defend.
