    Hull 1 Arsenal 4

    Leicester 3 Burnley 0

    Man City 4 Bournemouth 0

West Brom 4 West Ham 2

Everton 1 Middlesbrough 1 (so far)

Well... things are looking interesting in the prem. City look seriously on it at the minute. 5 down and 5 wins and never really in doubt. ok they've not played much of anyone yet.

4 teams now on 10 points behind city who are already 5 points up after 5 games. Southampton and west ham from last year look toast already. Utd and spurs to play yet.. all could go ahead of those on 10.

Right now this prem looks more like big teams bullying small teams and the top 8 (including leicester and everton) all look like they'll bully the rest

If we had to call this as a prediction after 5 games (a full month of football) then City will win this and there is going to be a cluster of clubs including arsenal, spurs, chelsea, liverpool, utd and everton which could really make the top 7... then leicester will be top half probably but southampton and west ham should be top 10 but are nowhere close yet.

not seeing any shocks in this, we knew everton were serious underperformers last year and we all know koemans defensive style suits the players at hand.

I can't call the top 4 yet.. theres 5/6 clubs for 3 slots now and city look very very good.

Middlesbrough started by far the better side but didn't make it count

The Everton fans turned the game around by intimidating the ref into allowing the goal that started their comeback

Everton took advantage of their momentum and the points should be safe

Agree with the bullying. Week to week this is going to be a very boring PL despite a number of teams challenging for top 4.

Only the matches between the top 6 or 7 will be interesting for viewers/listeners. The live matches on tv or radio between a top 6/7 side and a lower team are starting to get very boring. I listened to the city vs Bournemouth match for the first few minutes and then the match was over- won in a canter. Only interesting match this afternoon was the WBA vs West Ham one as it involved a previous top 7 club getting into trouble - a bit of Schadenfreude :bandit:

nahhhh if a side is brilliant and remains brilliant through the season then thats not boring.

They've not played anyone yet though

    Borunemouth meh
    Utd bottled it
West ham are not right at all. have lost 10 goals in 3 games now
    Stoke are also ****ed
    sunderland will be 20th

so..... yeah its 5 wins but there's a big glut of teams aorund top 4 to be played.

Europa League qualification and maybe a good cup run, no depth for more than that IMO, plus their GK is still a liability

well its normal service restored. the clubs all got oodles of dosh but are not willing to pay the wages so the bigger clubs who have the same oodles have bought better and look better.

except for arsneal who depsite getting the CB and CM demanded are now whining said CB and CM have no "cover" and its still wengers fault....

I don't think the top teams are brilliant though:
Liverpool great going forward, error prone in defence
Man Utd total ****e TBH but paid enough to be a reasonable flat track bully
Man City defence is a joke but teams too scared to give it a go so far, only played #nomarks so far
Everton high in the table by virtue of having played nobody either
    Chelsea squad needs rebuilding everywhere
Tottenham were progressing nicely last season with no competition but did **** all to strengthen
Arsenal the typical team that does just enough for top 4, probably finally pushed their luck with more teams challenging this season

We can be 100% certain that some of the top sides will fall by the wayside by Xmas. Even city that looked invincible in the first 2-3 months last season fell so badly that they were lucky to cling on to 4th.

At the risk of jinxing them, could Everton be the season's Leicester ? They look pretty solid and scoring goals for fun ;)

If one thing happens this season I hope Arsenal finish like 8th because they so ****ing deserve it and the subsequent reality check

    Static club
Decent success record albeit mostly FA Cup wins, never been anywhere near winning a CL yet persist with the idea that they deserve to be in the comp every year despite performances suggesting they are way way over-reaching in it
Persisting with once progressive now dinosaur manager
Always always scrape 4th and club hierarchy are happy with that, and even though they won't admit it, so are the fans as they know it could be so much worse ... let's hope it gets so much worse (sorry goners <sorry> #spellingerroroftheirnicknamemaybedeliberate)

    brilliance is relative.

All english sides are rubbihs compared to european top sides

so... relative to them you are right.

Relative to other prem sides the top 7/8 look to be much better than the rest.

I would agree for the comedy fan value if nothing else.

I clealry recall it. it was a professional foul meriting a yellow card. both times he got out of position and was behind his opponent he grabbed them.. once a shirt pull then dived on ball and handled it and the other time he grabbed around the neck... neither were punished with a card... which was shocking.

West Ham are a good bet for relegation.
The way they are going their "New stadium
    syndrome" is going to last.

I guess the taxpayer has to pay to have the stadium fixed as the West Ham fan infighting escalates
