I know a few spurs & pool fans, and over the last couple of months make a point of popping in to see me, they are not bad fellows but I can't tell you how much its annoying me, the subtle smarmy stuff, ahhh, I'm going to explode!!!!!! Three points, no matter what, Pllllllease.
No you can not. I can see loads trying though and we'll have empty seats in our biggest away game for years. Not really fair either.
Of all the great things that could happen this season (Everton flop; Spurs find out their level, when they are dumped down into Europa; Saints prove all these pundits wrong who are saying we've finally gone too far with our model, and can't achieve anything this season), Mourinho failing at Man U, even by missing the top four, would be glorious.
I think you are going to be wrong about Everton. As for Spurs, I have a sneaky suspicion you could be spot, while I also agree with you about Mourinho and Manchester United. It would leave LVG with an ironic smile on his face.
I've seen a couple of different answers to your question and I can confirm that the ticket does not need to be used by the season ticket holder When you purchase a ticket you fill in a separate form for name/date of birth/passport number before paying. You can put in any name you wish. Just make sure the name matches the passport.
Got my ticket for Milan away today. Was expecting to wait in que for ages but all sorted within a couple of minutes.
Not that i distrust what you're saying, but can anybody else confirm this? Would be a very expensive mistake..
I still think it's grossly unfair tbh and if I was one of the fans on the cusp of a ticket (i'm not) and couldn't get one then seeing 50+ empty seats in the away end where people have chanced it would piss me off no end.
I just called the ticket office and finally got through. They confirmed that the passport details MUST match the Account details. Therefore the person whose name is on the season ticket is the only person who can go. If you enter somebody elses passport details on ticket purchase they will not let you in on the gate.
Worth mentioning that they say this at all international away games. I go to many England away games traveling to Italy, Germany, Ireland and France for the recent Euros. Each time you will not get questioned at the ticket still or asked to provide passport numbers so long as the ticket is valid. The only time this happens is if the ticket office do not post out tickets but instead say they are via collection only. This is coming from someone who stupidly left his ticket for England vs Slovakia at home and only realised once we were at passport control travelling to St Etienne. Managed to pick up another out there and got in fine.
I think the club may be creating a real mess for themselves if that's the case - there is no firm indication of this on the website and the form allows you to put in any name. Myself and others I know have taken the risk so I guess we'll wait and hope that our names not matching the ST name will not cause any issues.
They seemed adamant that it is Italian law and that theyre very strict about it over there.. To be honest i dont see why they would specifically want the ticket to match the account details instead of a list of passport details that Southampton FC will provide them, whats the difference as long as they know who is entering the stadium in advance? Seems arbitrary to me but apparently thats the deal.
BassettSaint ive just called the ticket enquiries line again just to make absolutely sure - they assured me that people using a qualifying season ticket but entering somebody elses passport details will NOT be admitted to the stadium. They will check the seat details (as registered to your account and therefore your account details) with passport details as per the passport that appears at the gate (your passport). In your case the two names will not match. I told them they are going to have a problem because this is not at all clear in the ticket buying process. If i were you i'd call them yourself to confirm. All others looking to buy tomorrow morning - be warned
I've had plenty of mates go away to European games (United, Chelsea. Liverpool fans) with tickets they've got off mates of mates and they've never had any problems with passports matching up etc.
