It's just proof of evolution. With the independence from Europe being near enough job done, it's just a natural progression to declare independence from everywhere else, including independence from reality as we know it.

Apart from Russia. They all seem to want closer links with Russia. Odd, that.

It's maybe a dyslexia thing? It sounds like a popular choice to be linked to the Commonist Party.

It's far from job done.......Dont listen to Tory propaganda ffs. We are nowhere nearer leaving the EU than we were before the vote.....They wont tell you that as it's embarrassing situation when all the major countries wont play ball......Brexit means ...I dont have a clue and the only thing that is keeping this country from falling apart completely is we are still in the EU and we are to afraid to trigger article 50 as we dont know the outcome.......So take their propaganda rubbish with a pinch of salt it deserves....

Pretty much what some of us have been saying since the result. Perhaps you could pass that message to the financial markets.

    Talking of finance,
Where is Custard to explain why the pound is tanking.
I do find it bizarre watching certain media outlets reporting how brilliant we are doing when the pound rises a cent but keep completely silent when it drops 2 cents. To me it shows the hypocrisy at work and the naivety of anyone who believes them.

Unless they're foolish enough to fall for the lies and propaganda rubbish, it can't be related to Brexit though can it? As taffy pointed out, nothing has changed.

How do you explain the pound diving the day after the referendum result? Simply a very freakish coincidence? Or more likely a lack of international confidence in the GBP after the decision to leave the EU.

It will go lower once the process actually starts and even lower if we actually leave the EU. That's against the dollar to clarify.

Get with the programme Stan. Nothing's changed, that was the financial markets foolishly falling for the lies and propaganda, seemingly from the remain leader saying he'd act immediately.

Brexit to start in January: European Council president reveals that Theresa May told him the date she will trigger Article 50 - but warns he will NOT compromise on freedom of movement.

So its January, if its to be believed.

What a lot of uninformed bollocks!

But of course, you from Hull - the Centre of the universe - know more about the economic consequences of Brexit than the financial markets do!...<doh>

Yep Tusk let slip he had been told Jan or Feb next year. However the talk out of Europe is very tough and sounds like they want to prove the UK are worse off outside the EU as a way of deterring other countries considering leaving.

Indeed, it will be interesting. I wonder if May will do a hard Brexit to start with but still have the offer of free movement to fall back on if things dont work out.

The superior, sarcastic approach doesn't work if the facts make you look like a numpty Hull. Don't know why you persevere with it.

She will send a letter saying we want out and that's all we will hear.
Civil servants are still advising to go for a temporary solution of asking for free trade access and a handbrake on immigration while full negotiation for our trade relationship takes place last I heard.

It takes no perseverance at all. It's pretty much effortless amusement on here. <ok>
