Jimmy doesn't rate either. He claims he's a good squad player but up until recently, moaned every time he was in the first team. So basically, he wants a squad player that never plays!

@Jimmy Squarefoot has been very fair and accurate in his assessment of the game tbf.

I thought Matip was outstanding other than sliding in for the goal.

Hendo, Gini, lallana were all solid in midfield. I don't think anyone really stood out, was just a very good all round performance.

True but it wouldn't be right to not poke him with a stick <whistle>

PS...although he has shown bias towards Can. He shouldn't walk back into the side. He should work his way back in, if others are playing well then they shouldn't be dropped.

I only saw like the last 25 minutes tonight but I thought we were good, actually looked calm and composed defending and were getting in behind on attacks or slicing through them, productive possession rather than the sort that goes nowhere and fizzles out that we're all accustomed to ... could've done with that 3rd goal though, Origi shoulda buried that header chance he had

It's another impressive performance away at one of the big clubs, we've done this before

Now we have to start getting results against the 'lesser' clubs ... if we can figure that out and the no-show performances stop right now we have a good chance at the title imo

Sure I remember us beating Villa at theirs on a Friday night in the 80's. Think I remember Rushie doing a running lob over the keep.

This was our best performance so far. And IMO it was also the best performance of any away team in the premiership (without being too biased). We controlled the game and like City at the mancs thoroughly deserved the win. Whilst the mancs could have had a draw ( blatant pens not given) I couldn't see us losing the points.

On this form we are definite title challengers. Whilst City, Arsenal and Man U are distracted by European football we can concentrate 100% on the league. When Firmino is available, our attacking options will be increased.

Not going to get carried away yet, the signs are good but it's a long season and we need to string a run together and beat some of our traditional banana skin teams before I could be convinced we can challenge.

Shout out to Coutinho he was superb last night.

What is encouraging is that we can still improve.

The other lesson from last night is that this Chelsea team does not look a title winning side. A bit early to say this but their lack of penetration or any ideas when they were behind does not show they'll even be a top 4 side. Luiz was not an improvement of their defence and without Costa they would be blunt at the front.

I agree, a lot has been said about the impact of managers this season but they cannot all work miracles and for Chelsea to completely transform themselves in one season to title contenders is not happening imo. What happens if Costa or Hazard is out? They don't have a lot in attack, Willian is good though he was the only one putting a shift in last night, perhaps he made the wrong choice. <whistle>
