Matip could be in line for bargain of the season at this rate. Thought our midfield were great for the majority of game but obviously tired in the last 30. Lallana another good game. People who say he's just about the Cruyff turns are ignoring the amount of times he wins back possession or presses mistakes and he is so calm in possession in tight spots, we usually end up moving up the pitch through hi even when we're being pressed. He's playing really well in this CM role.
We've played 4 of our first 5 games away from home(2 against last season's top 4 finishers and 1 against an unbeaten Chelsea, yeah we crap against against Burnley, we've also battered the reigning champions in our only home game so far. So an easier(on paper)run of fixtures for us is in order tbf..
Quite a professional performance. Thought everyone played their role really well. Henderson is starting to step up to the challenge, Lallana looks good and dare I say that Milner isn't so bad at left back. Hard to pick a MOTM but it's between Henderson, Matip or Gini for me.
Henry is in 4mil. Not sure what ads she does though.. She has a 3 hour gig on fnf.. thats not meriting 500k on its own. Countdown should be 100k cos vorderman was sacked on that cos she was too expensive. Cats is a once a week gig? 2 hours work to wear a short skirt.
My biggest worry is that we usually **** up against the lesser teams. Hoping that Klopp has learnt a lot from the Burnley game
Milner was poor enough at lb at times. Kept offering the outside to willian and ivanovic and sticking a lazy leg out. Got skinned twice and while it was never a pen did a really silly thing that couldve blown up if the player got the fall right. Full backs cannot show their oppoent the outside and let them in round the back. Especially when its a slow arsed ivanovic who will never go inside. I thought he was poor enough.
Still think Can comes in and plays that deep role and then Hendo moves into Gini'a role and Gini moves into Lallana's. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
I meant from the perspective that the guy isn't a defender. He's doing well in such an unnatural position. But yeah - comparing him to an actual left back, he's not good enough. But we're getting by ok.
