Jose has a little bit of bad karma about him at the moment. I'd keep him on the bench. Harsh maybe, but he has not done Claude many favours over the last few weeks.

 

As much as I like JWP I don't think his all round game is enough to displace hojoylbergg. We've had a lot of rotation, I would expect fonte and Bert to come back in. Austin must start, prob use j rod as sub again. I would keep tadic and put Redmond in.

 

Have to agree with Lovelocum, I like James but he can be a bit light weight at times. Both our young guns gave it away too easy last night, probably the only negative,

 

I thought Targett was pretty flawless. The only time I recal him losing the ball was when he took their wide players on, & then he was able to recover.

 

I thought he lost the ball a few times with stray passes, short simple gone astray types, am I discrediting him somewhat?

 

Yeah I thought he was solid enough, I was particularly impressed with the encouragement he was getting from Austin. I'm sure every player gives each other encouragement but Austin was particularly loud in applauding Long and Targett in their efforts, good to see.

I think Claude should stop messing around with half measures, and play a huge 11-man diamond, with Forster at one vertical pinnacle and Austin at the other. I think we should then contain the entire Swansea team inside this diamond, and just never let them out.

And we should start coming out to 'Diamond Lights' on the tannoy.

You're halfway there. The diamond should be in a constant state of rotation, pivoting around the center of the pitch. Thus, it will be like a diamond saw blade, the sort used for tunneling through solid rock, and it will be utterly unstoppable. The times when the points of the diamond are well out of play on the sidelines may be challenging, but we'll work through it.

 

I'd prefer Diamonds Are Forever.

 

Main changes for me are maybe starting Cuco, he did well for us last season and proved he still can against Sparta. Cedric has had a ropey start to the season at RB. I agree I'd like to see Redmond in the 10 and Charlie up front. Put tadic out wide where he's been most effective for us.

Not going to be the same game as we saw on thurs tho so at CB I'd go with Jose. Surely he cant give awy another penalty and his composure under pressure just edges Maya for me.
