Good news for us: Southampton have started today with a strong line up Bad news: they're looking quite good
It's a shame that I'm dreading every match at the moment. Wish we could display something to change that feeling. All those years wishing to be in the PL and now it's become very depressing for the last 2 seasons. My confidence has gone. I don't mean that I want a win away at Southampton like that 1-0 we stole there recently, because that did nothing to make me believe we were any good, only that we got lucky. I want a good performance that shows we are getting our **** together.
I quite like the guy, you cant help that, but how long do we give him to make this improvement he has been here 8 months aand there is absolutely no improvement in the way we play, in fact we have gone backwards from last season. I am with swan and hope we never try that failed 3 at the back again as that was probably one of the worse 30 mins I have ever seen at The Liberty and as Swan says we just don't have the personnel to play it, if he perseveres with it we will be deep in trouble by the time it may work, what we do know is at least when we play 4 at the back we are competitive.
I feel exactly the same way, it is woeful at the moment and we play zero football, it is just negative boring ****e, I just hope for once we go somewhere and pick a slightly attacking formation and have a go.
Lawro: It was a great comeback by Swansea to draw with Chelsea last week but they are still without a win since beating Burnley on the opening day. Southampton do not have a win full-stop under Claude Puel but they had enough chances to beat Arsenal last week before losing to a last-gasp penalty, and I think their wait for three points will be over on Sunday. Lawro's prediction: 2-0
I thought the second half against Chelsea was anything but boring and my prediction of getting something out of the game was spot on. At this stage we are one point short of where I thought we would be after four games I get the feeling that some on here want us to play football like Brazil did in the sixties and seventies and win every game. Totally unrealistic. I don't care how we get them but I want us to get to the 40 point mark and then we can play expansive football if we want to.
NS no one believes we are brazil or Barcelona, but what we have is a much better side than what is showing on the pitch and much better players than they have been showing up to now. Is it not fair for fans to expect a team to have a go and try and play a little football at times or should we just sit there and just accept the boring negative ****e we are served up. All I want is for us to play a little like we did 3 seasons ago as the football played has got consistently worse.
I have been saying the same thing but when i say it the nuggets come out to play trying to be clever What is the difference...
Lets hope someone is listening to the fans as we are by far not the only forum that are not happy with the way Jenkins is running things these past few seasons. I do feel sorry for Guildo in a way as he does have the backing of Jenkins but the reality is is that it is Jenkins who is running the show and Guildo is his puppet and eventually the fall guy that Jenkins will inevitably put all the blame on but we know different and must ensure Jenkins dont get away with it and is forced from his job as well....
Every game? At this rate under Guidolin I'll be over the moon with one full 90 mins of exciting football this season.
Difference is Dai, you haven't given Guido credit for turning things around v Chelsea in the 43rd minute Saturday.
Valley you are right, but he has to take the blame for starting a side and formation that was doomed to fail from the start, we don't as Swan says have the players to make it work. I just wish he hadn't apologised to Taylor for taking him off. He got that right and Taylor needs to realise that he was appalling on Sunday and stop sulking.
Agree. As I told you before the game I knew he'd pick the diamond and play with no pace. I won't be surprised if we play with a back four Sunday and the same frigging diamond.
I would go with width and pace and occupy their full backs give them something to think about defensively rather than just allow them to get forward. I would start both Montero and barrow and get after them.
I just dont think it's Taylor who is fed up with Guildo and his limited skill. I think the whole dressing room are not happy......Curtis is keeping quiet too but i bet he and his whole coaching staff have been told not to comment....
My team ----------------------Fab------------------- Naughton----VDH-----Amat---------Kngsley ----------------Leon-----------Cork-------------- Barrow--------------Gylfi-------------------Montero ----------------------McBurnie----------------- I'd stick Fed and Llorente on the bench, hopefully along with Baston. Taylor, I'd drop from the squad all together.
