Nee NUFC supporters buses run as far as i am aware. They put one on from The Cyprus pub a year or 2 back but i think thats gone the journey again. 2 major SAFC ones operate.

Without sounding like i'm on the wind up (anar, it's me) the majority of nufc fans in shields are the council estate inhabitants who never ever goto games.

Shrug, always seemed an even amount to me, but I was a kid so I'm only going on that! Although we did have Newcastle training ground trips in my junior school. (Which about half the class refused to go to obviously!)

I think theres a bus that runs from the Ashley.

And to the kid who said its a mackem town, you are sadly mistaken, ad say its about 60% toon 40% scum, and ppl tend to just get along, well apart from on derby day!

phsyco spouting ****e as usual... town is split pretty much down the middle, he only notices the majority of sunderland people cause they're all in the pubs watching the match together. Bus' run from various pubs The Westoe (a newcastle pub might I add) for starters. Not sure about other places as I don't really need to know about them.

Back on topic of nights out in shields, like other people have mentioned if you take a quick walk into the town centre (where's your b'n'b? - if it's on ocean road then its simply a straight walk down the street into town past Morrisons etc... you'll see the metro line it's not hard to miss) and there is a direct metro to the stadium. I tend to get off at monument or central and go for a few pints before hand, but with it being the first game of the season unless your planning on heading there early-ish I would just head directly to the stadium as there's sometimes problems getting people in for kick-off during the big games as other people have the same idea and then you get congestion at the turnstiles.

As far as nights out go in the town I see a lot of people telling you where to go, whoever suggested the sea front route had the right idea (especially the sanddancer - there is usually a band on there, some good some not so good). However nobody has told you places to avoid. Theres 3 main clubs in town:

Dusk - The "better" of the 3 your typical dance / rnb music and the like

Glitterball - If your about 104 or into grab a granny type things then this is your best bet

Vogue - Avoid like the ****ing plague it's a massive charv fest always fights at the end of the night, it's just a **** hole really. The lasses are easy mind so swings and roundabouts y'know.

As far as bars and that go there are plenty in the town as well:

    Kirkpatricks (next to morrisons),

    Beach (across from morrisons)

Atlantic / Vibe (these are all owned by the same people who own dusk so the music and people are generally the same)

    Roxannes (same deal with Vogue)

There's a couple of other bars in and around town where the older people go to drink. Banks and stuff are all situated within the town centre as well, Halifax across from morrisons so. Then when your finished head back on down curry mile (ocean road) for a skanky takeaway or a curry depending on what time you finish / decide to eat.

It's a Sunlun town 60/40. Take away the sink estates and it'll be nearer 80/20.

    Don't you forget it.

Spot on about Shields, it's ok for a night out loads of pubs and mainly Indian restaurants, lots of hen parties stags etc. People seem to be obsessed with fancy dress these days, and you'd be mad not to use the metro. South Shields is the first and last stop, you'll be sure to get a seat on match days, you leave the metro at Haymarket to get to the ground and it's a short walk. You will have to hang about Town for a while after the match until the crowds die down, but it's no hardship. If you're planning just one night out you should probably have it in town, avoid the Bigg Market.

Your dreaming mate, take a walk down king street, go to any of the football arena (temple park) in town and count the amount of toon tops to sunland tops and the toon always outnumbers your lot

    EDIT

walk into JJB on king street and tell me what the 1st think you see at the top of the stairs is? a rack of Toon tops, so surely if there were more mackems fan they would cater to them!?

Who wears the toon tops? The scratters who have never been, never go and are covered in dinner stains.

Sink estate inhabitants come together mate. To create this mirage.

Is this opposed to the floods of sunderland fans we see swanning around in their 3 piece suits before a game... get a grip you massive bell-end. The way you keep touting these "sink estate inhabitants" i'd wager your probably a ****ing hillbilly yourself.

Agree with comments above, Metro a better bet that taxi. Get the Metro to Monument and then walk to the ground, will take a few minutes, just follow the black and white shirts! There's plenty of decent late bars/clubs in Shields and as mentioned above, a cracking number of curry houses!
