When Suarez first came, he was trying to do everything himself and it led to pot shots which amounted to nothing.

Then put coutInho and sturrridg next to him and the pressure was off him and it created more space for him.

I think the same happened to Coutinho but he now has Mane and Firmino, and a fully fit Sturridge. Coutinho has picked up some bad habits but im sure he'll fix it.

Going back to Suarez - he's been the best player in the world for the past 18-24 months. If not longer.

I think an interesting one being match score before he scores.

If you're talking about Lukaku, I checked his goals scored stats and of the 13 games Everton lost last season, he only scored in 3 of them. In the games they won, mostly they were already won before he scored, he very rarely scored the winner or equaliser [thus earning the team points].

seriously though... i've watched everton and seen him miss 4 sitters then finally get a ball in the air and smash that home. I don't really care when he scored the goals personally, its conversion of chances to goals i care about in a striker.

I rather think mr vardy is in the same boat.. i do think he got a glory run for a while last year but i can see him get 10 or less this (including gifts) so I reckon lukaku will easily beat that.

Bit of a coincidence this reported today...
    shows how rubbish Lukaku is...

    http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...s/romelu-lukaku-leads-ronaldo-suarez-11884591

Anyway i must admit my theory about strikers does have a flaw who remembers Paul Warhurst (hope i remembered the right name and team lol)
Remember him playing up top for Sheffield Weds and bagging a few? Mind i can't remember what his defending was like before he was moved up top <laugh>

6 last season, 2 season before - but where will you get a site that lists which goals he assisted and were they 'important' ?

totally irrelevant stat. every career is different.

I remmebr the guy. I rememebr him being a cb and being stuck up there.

David hirst was all that as well before injury or whatever.

are you saying you should play lucky at CB in a reverse warhurst move?

Yup when they score matters not as long as they score i agree...
And yup your spot on he should score more of the chances he gets...
Still pretty impressive figures for a relative nipper though as reported by the Echo..

Yup he's not good enough to be doing that IMO he's got good goal to game figures but his first touch needs improving something daft and he needs grounding a bit to be fair...
I think/hope Koeman will be good for him..

Yup i hope so look at Barkley on Monday spent most of the first half giving the ball away and he got hooked...Koeman also mentioned why post match no sentiments exactly what we need old brown shoes would have called it a Barkley phenominal master class...

Nearly as gauling as Guardiola calling Bravo's debut the best keeping display he'd seen lol

well it is their job like. guardiola has said to aguero. your job.. finisher.. not leg about all over. same for mourinho.

many fine players like linkere and aldridge or even fowler have scored or done nowt in a game. they are finishers.

Guardiola saying it was fine cos he set up all their attacks (apparently you can go back that far) so no issue with a probably red card waved off and a total flog of goal... it was quite hilarious yes.

The ony issue with koeman doing that is do it once ok.. make a point.. do it more and players start going f you.

    I a
If they play mince they will get hooked i'm over the moon with that they should raise their levels to match their pay packets or sit on the bench we have needed this kick up the arse for a few seasons...
I mean we have not bothered with defence training since brown shoes got hired and it showed...
Its early days but we have shipped 2 in 4 in the league we were doing that in 5 mins last year lol

We have spun this one out nicely haven't we. The whole thing started out as Lukaku vs Benteke bet last year I believe [which I missed most of]. But the conclusion was Benteke's goals were more important for us few though they were. As regards Vardy, and this plays into the big difference for me of value of goal over quantity - as well as scoring winners and equalisers, he scored every goal in every Leicester loss, which I believe is key to effort put in added value to the team. Win or lose he didn't go missing, went down fighting all the way.
