I think the top 6 will finish roughly back to normal this time round. The 2 Manc clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool & Spurs.

The only team I see threatening that is Everton, in which case they will knock Spurs out.

Are you just trying to have a pop at your last two managers? <whistle>

Not at all, actually it's praising Ron, and nothing against Poch but you have CL to contend with this year while Liverpool, Everton & Chelsea have no Europe at all.

Is that why you haven't included your own side in the running or have you not been impressed with Puel?
I haven't seen enough of him to judge yet, so it would be nice to hear from someone that has.

The Europa League could actually be very useful for Southampton, if it's approached in the right manner.
Your squad depth looks decent and you tend to have some talented youth players waiting in the wings.
Using the group games to get them firing and competing for starting places could do the back end of your season good.
It's well worth winning as well, of course.

  5. I love it how certain posters are predicting that 'Pool will finish above us this season, even though they've only managed to do that once in the last 8 or so seasons, and despite the fact that we have the better manager and squad!

    Unbelievable!

  6. I'm predicting that (a) Klopp will continue to dance like an utter spazmoid on the touchline whenever 'Pool score a goal, (b) LCFC will be well outside the top 6, and (c) the media will continue to fawn over 'Pool's exploits even though they will be no more impressive than those of Spurs.

Partly the reason but also that we're also due a bit of a transitional season I think.

We've improved every season for 6/7 years, it's not going to go on forever paticuarly when we've lost 10 first team players and 2 managers in the last 3 Summers.

Too early to say on Puel and I myself have only watched 1 game this year which was United on tv so far due to work. Going tomorrow though so looking forward to that.

Also I don't agree with playing the youth in the EL, strongest team for me want to see us give it a good crack. Doesn't come round for a club like us much.

    Definitely bottom half this year.

This is only your opinion and not fact, based on performances so far Liverpool are edging that.

Bottom half? Must say, I'm surprised at that.
I think that you'll definitely see some rotation in the Europa League, too.
Throw your bench in from the weekend and I think you'd still have a good shot at beating Sparta Prague.

We are talking about playing style and squad, typical spud one win against a piss poor Stoke team and you're the dogs bollocks. Fackt!<laugh>

No, we're not. You simply didn't have any idea what either side's results were.
The fact that we've got two wins gives that away.

Why suprised? I'd be shocked if we did <laugh>

Yeah I'm sure we'll some rotation but I would prefer the stronger team to play Sparta rather than Swansea.

Sparta Prague won't be easy, experienced European side who made the qf's (i think) last year.

It will be interesting to see how the Spuds cope with CL football and trying to maintain a top 4 spot this season. They haven't coped that well in the past when they've come off the back of midweek European games.

I think Liverpool and Everton will push Spurs in the league this season, given that they don't have the distraction of Europe.

Last season was the first where Spurs had UEFA KO stage involvement and
qualify for the CL. So we will be looking to do the same again this year, and reach
    at least the CL QFs.

Honest that and I agree with you.

The Thursday / Sunday thing is a pain in the arse as well. I hated that aspect when we've played in it.

It does stretch your resources and there's always a price to pay in terms of league performances and injuries.

    1. Spurs fans will be crying as their season falls away.

    2. City will be 6 points clear.

    3. Leicester and Everton will be in top 6, along with Utd. Chelsea and Arsenal

    4. Sunderland will be 15th.

    5. Spurscock will have lost three fingers at bomb making classes.
