Morning all, it was hot yesterday and it will be even hotter this afternoon, but all the forecasters seem to agree that we will see some rain tonight and tomorrow. If they are correct it will be the first time since early June that some will fall. Yesterday I looked across the fields and thought there must be a fire somewhere as there were clouds of what I first thought to be smoke. I then watched and found that it was a farmer harrowing a field, and it was actually dust.
I wish it was that here. 37°C at the moment and it is too hot to do anything. I have discovered that my TV doesn't like it either as the sound keeps going off when it is this hot. It is alright when it gets cooler in the evening providing I turn it off, then back on. Don't think it should do that, but if I call the man out it will no doubt work.
Had a storm including an absolute deluge at lunchtime. From what the SSN reporter at Elland Road has said, it's now in Leeds.
The sky is lighting up, and the lights in the house are flickering. We are on Orange alert for storms, but no rain yet. I see that Man City game is off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Most ridiculous comment of the night is from SSN reporter Jonny Phillips: "They may be suffering a bit from their travels". It would make sense if he was referring to a team who were losing away in the CL, but this was about Barnsley in the first half at Wolves when it was 0-0. Barnsley were away at Preston on Saturday, and as I post this are 1-0 up.
Morning all, last night the storm didn't really happen despite battening down all the hatches. This morning much cooler I am glad to say, and we have even had a very light shower, although it has hardly laid the dust. Rain forecast on and off for the next couple of days, but it needs to be steady, not just the odd shower or two.
Long weekend here, well 4 days as Independence day is here (15th at midnight) I am buggering off to the coast in search of sailfish and dorado (if the rains have brought about enough debris in the water for them) Hope we get a result against Utd. Enjoy the weekend all.
Good morning all from a warm and dry Weston-super-Mare, I'll be glad when this humidity has heft us! Have a good day and glad to see you back Andy!
