Ah yea in that respect I agree, but I'd rather there be a bit of passion standing there than sitting in the chapel for example. Not that i get to go to many games nowadays
Last season I sat in the chapel end for the games I went to, mainly because having held a season ticket there for the seasons (2010-11 to 2012-13) and I have always liked the end to end view. However last season when we started slow I was unfortunate to be put a row behind this absolute twat who must get his joy from slating the players. For some reason he always shouted biscuit at targett and even at 3-0 up vs Norwich he was miserable. I've never felt like throttling someone but boy he pushed me close to the precipice. Since then have decided to move to the Kingsland, mainly because tickets for this game and palace game are much Cheaper and haven't sat in the halfway line before. I'll probably get a few of the same people though.
Not if the passion is someone singing "you don't know what you're doing" at our manager before the end of our second home game, or unleashing a torrent of abuse at Matt Targett before half an hour of the season had passed. That's not "passion", it's mindless abuse, pure and simple. They should bugger off home. Vin
I sat in the chapel once with my lad , and it was most dull game I've ever watched. When ever I take him now we always sit in the northam, he loves it. Just along as what ever he hears at football stays at football and dosent get repeated at home, if he does then he simply dosent get to go to the next game I go to , simple.
Ok enough of the Chapel-slagging We like the rough and tumble of an away game but at home we like it less feisty and if an away game isn't going well then we have beennear drunken teenagers calling our own players c**ts, which I could really do without We're sat with a bunch of people we can now call our friends spread across 3 rows, we have no 'passionate' twats around us and we have a laugh, sometimes in adversity. There's no lack of passion its just quieter than in the Northam. At least 3 of us sing but a ground is going to have different fans in different areas. We often follow the Northam's singing, but as it isn't that loud you wouldn't be able to hear it from the other end. I have rarely found any of our home games dull over the last few years, although they're sometimes exciting for the wrong reasons. But if you want the proper 100% footie experience then you should do the Northam or an away game. I've been there and done that and am chilling a bit more these days
Where do you usually watch it? I used to live in Dubai, off the Beach Road in Jumeirah. Wondering where people watch these days. Must be a plethora of sports bars...
Am going to this one, block 33 so not far from where my season ticket seat used to be when I could still justify one. The Farmhouse beckons pre match...
What do we reckon on the crowd? Would be disappointed with less than 30k. I imagine they'll only have a few hundred or so.
I think you completely missed the point of my post. Completely. We all like noise but not abuse of the players. Do you stand near Onionman?
Kingsland? I sat there last year a teenage girl was giving him stick all game, whilst her dad berated Pelle.
There are so many places now - but for around GBP15 per month you can get Bien Sports Package at home and that gets you every EPL game live (I think they have around 12-15 HD Sports Channels in all) plus European football too - Spanish/German/French/Italian. The place where Saints fans (the Dubai Saints) go is called Barasti near the Marina - only its more an outdoor location and its too hot at the moment. It does have some indoor seating which is okay, but much better to go to in the winter months. Has its own beach too for the kids!!
No idea Flt, not been a ST holder for a while now due to having no idea when I can really attend games, I usually try to sit in block 41 though.
I can't make the game because low tide is late afternoon on Thursday and I'm working on the IOW so won't get back until 21:00. Party atmosphere guys, this is a new competeition, a fresh start. Let's beat these pesky Spartans!
