Why are you all so angry up north? Is it the cold or the lack of jobs? Or simply having to wake up each day, look in the mirror and remember you're northern?
He's deffo been down to the smoke for a weekend, fancied trying a little man on man action and been turned down.
a peculiar assessment. they may have been "just another london club" up to some year of their history, but i'd choose 1930, when a dodgy referee with connections to the arsenal board allowed them iffy passage through an fa cup semi-final replay against some northern club. thereafter they stopped being "just another london club" and became (and remain) the most successful london club, by several country miles. two fa cup wins and five league titles during the 30s put them beyond reach of any other london club. when i started following football round about 1970, four clubs shared the lead in the most league titles held - seven each for man utd, liverpool, everton, and arsenal. chelsea had won one by that time, and didn't win a second until 50 years after their first. by then, arsenal were on 13. sure it's been a while since arsenal's last title, but nothing like as long as liverpool and everton have been waiting.
We were ahead 2-0 in the first leg at Leeds conceding 2 goals in the last half hour. Lost 1-0 in the replay which included a controversial send-off of a City defensive player. Misery of all that was compounded when we were later relegated. 1929-1930 season ended in tears.
I am southern, I've lived my whole life in Kent, you don't get much more southern than that. But you know what, I think I'd rather wake up, look in the mirror and be northern. Every time I go up north, everyone is friendly and happy for a chat. Down south, but particularly in London every single bastarding person thinks they're the single best thing since sliced bread. I'd rather be northern than be associated with absolute ****bags like you. **** off.
Olivier Giroud got a red card at PSG. Does this take him out of Saturday's game? Or is it only applicable in CL games? http://www.espnfc.com/arsenal/story...innocence-after-red-card-at-psg-arsene-wenger
Despite you living in the South, hard luck and all that. Unless you're an actor, professional footballer or work in the City - South East average salaries are distorted by the few. I have a lot of family in London and none of them earn anywhere near what I earn. You are somewhat deluded.
Different competitions with different governing bodies. It'd be like Aguero playing for his mate's Sunday team, getting a red, and sitting out a PL game.
In a word, no. A decade before we met you in the cup final we were bottom of the entire football league ladder. To get so far just 10 years later was nothing short of remarkable and when Arsenal fans sang "2 nil up and you fact it up" I'd have been embarrassed if I'd have been one of them. Had you really sunk so low?
Back to the forthcoming match and I fancy us, i really do. Isn't there some stat - that will doubtless now be proven majestically incorrect or outdated - about Arsenal being ****e the match after a UCL away game?
If anything, they win more than they lose. 2015/16 Played 4 games away in Europe, following league game: W2, L1, D1 2014/15 Played 5, following league games: W4, D1 2013/14 Played 5, following league games: W3, L2
Last season before the First World War Arsenal finished 5th in the second division on the same number of points as us. When football started up again after the fighting they had mysteriously been 'invited' back into the first division. For me their record for the last 97 years should be expunged. That's not why I hate them though. I 'ates 'em 'cos they're ****s.
