He's a shady ****er, which is why charges were brought against him. You don't bring charges against someone without any evidence. However they were conveniently dropped - Duffen I wouldn't trust.
That's because...it is all their fault People were desperate to support them, but they seemingly didn't care about fans...which is up to them, but was never going to work
I look at their time as one of unparalleled success. I never worried that they would be given permission to change the clubs name, and I find it hard to care how they name the clubs Facebook page. His 'wish they would die' comment was water off a ducks back, and the fuss over the Airco was blown out of all proportion. The membership scheme, however, was either an incredibly stupid idea or designed to give two fingers to the supporters. Sadly, I think maybe there was a bit of both in the decision and shame on the Allams for that. But, y'know, I find it hard not to enjoy two promotions, a few games in Europe and an FA Cup Final. And they are leaving the club in a much better state than they found it.
More in debt, smaller attendances, fractured fan base, broken club at war with itself, the supporters and the council, viewed as a freakshow by the wider football world.
If it hadn't been for those who were not only worried but also got busy & organised then the chances are they would have been given the go ahead to change the club's name.
Are you confusing criminal charges with a civil action? And by dropped do you mean a settlement was agreed before the hearing? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2010/jan/21/hull-city-paul-duffen
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo.../Hull-accuse-Paul-Duffen-over-agent-fees.html It may be civil action, but they're still charges/accusations/allegations aren't they? Yes, settlement. Which is still an admission of guilt, why would you settle if you weren't guilty?. The club also froze his assets, so he's still a cockwomble. No smoke without fire etc etc.
I agree he was up to dodgy things, if he wasnt why would he settle? Also how could his assets be frozen for no reason?? He is a prize penis.
Not defending Duffen, as I don't know the detail (do you?); but are you seriously saying that every charge raised is justified. Just a Layman's thought, mind.
That's a very dangerous, and potentially, a very damaging assumption. What if the club did owe him money and his assertion was correct? What if the out of court agreement saved face for everyone? Who lit that fire you're referring to?
Terry Geraghty takes a bit of a pop and looks forward to City having new owners... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/hull...th-new-owner/story-29712366-detail/story.html Hardly a surprise.
