I'm not blocked and I can't find it. There are tweets there that he'd perhaps have deleted if he was going on a cleaning-up spree too (nothing too incriminating, just stuff vehemently defending stuff that he did as City chairman that seems a bit out of date or wrong now). Also, his tweeting starts well after that date. And, whatever you think of him, it seems out of character. He's quite eloquent and that tweet most certainly isn't. Finally, I get the impression that he's never really ruled out a return to the top job at City almost from day he left the club. Doing something like that that would burn his bridges seems unlikely to me. So while I have no hard evidence either way, it just doesn't ring true to me at all.

I hope they do win it. If this second lot get the club it might be the same as Nice and the Allams retain 20% and where stuck with Ehab running the show. I don't want the Allams and Duffen anywhere near Hull City.

Think our sale is different to the Nice sale, there the chairman wanted to retain stocks, ours wants rid.

Interesting comment from regarding possible new owners and views on club identity:
Rivère added: "Their arrival secures the future of the club and will provide the additional resources for continuation of our vision. While keeping its identity and guidance, OGC Nice will gradually reach their goals

Duffen's first tweet on that account is 23 April 2010. That tweet that offended people so much doesn't exist.

Making up tweets and ascribing them to prominent people is a proper ****'s trick. The source of that image needs to have a word with him/herself.

Paul Duffen joins Chinese investor for advanced takeover talks...

please log in to view this image

The Hull City takeover saga has taken yet another twist after it emerged that former chairman Paul Duffen is helping a new consortium in the latest negotiations.

Duffen has joined Chinese-American businessman Chien Lee in what they hope will be a successful bid to gain control of the Tigers. As chairman of the club from 2007 to 2009, Duffen oversaw the first promotion to the Premier League but was eventually replaced with Adam Pearson.

Lee and Duffen were pictured watching the academy squad's 2-1 win over Cardiff City at North Ferriby's Eon Visual Media Stadium last night, alongside current vice-chairman Ehab Allam and financier Alex Jarvis. It followed a day of advanced talks and while an agreement has yet to be reached, Lee has made his intentions clear following the collapse of a separate takeover bid by the Dai family last week.

The information we have is that the talks between Chien Lee and the Allam family have ended for the day. Mr Lee was spotted having breakfast at the Hallmark Hotel in North Ferriby this morning (other hotel chains are available) and then headed off for further discussions with Assem and Ehab Allam. Our understanding is those discussions have now ended for the day.

I don't trust anyone who "protects" their tweets.

Got something to hide and should not be trusted.

He may have deleted the account and then re-started it.

Does anyone (genuinely) have any recollection of seeing it before? I know I don't. And it's the kind of thing I'd have remembered. Surely there'd be threads devoted to such a tweet on here, AN, CI, etc... The whole thing seems very unlikely to me unless someone can come up with a reference to it from the time.

It depends on the underlying reason and the FA advice, or it would just be the time to draw a line through a name.

It's more than just a name, there are some other issues and they will take a little thought of the bid is to succeed. Some of the issues are around peripheral problems like movements of money and influence in the domestic game.
