The whole hand far more and that's the one people associate with him. Devils in the detail.

Plus the man himself seems quite happy with it.

So, just like JPF, you prefer if when the whole hand is up not just one finger?

Didn't dispute that he has had other celebrations. However there is one that any self respecting Newcastle/football fan recognises as "his" celebration. If you are gonna make a statue common sense would say use that celebration. Piss up and brewery.

Note his weird little finger separated from the rest

Like the statue and really liked KK and Terry Mac joining him on the day.

I remember getting my top bought and printed within about 90 minutes of the great man signing for us. One of my better decisions...

I think part of his appeal was that he was willing to turn down Man Utd to join his home town team. The league might be a lot more of a spectacle if more players did that. No doubt that the fans appreciate them as well.

It depends how big the finger is. If it was yours, it would be the size of the stay puft marshmallow man and pretty much tear someone a new asshole... <diva>

    This.
I guess it's about what an individual player wants. Some want the cash, plain and simple... some like the glory so fair play... some just wanna follow a dream.
The more the money goes up though... the more the cash will rule decisions.

Take Benitez. He's paid well but could have got more £££ elsewhere (Qatar etc...). He could have certainly had more 'glory' elsewhere too (short and mid term). It's now well documented that his final decision was more of an emotional one as he felt a connection with the fans and felt something of an obligation because of that connection to stay to bring us back up.
The LFC lads I speak to back up this and say Rafa needs 'love' and that 'connection' and after leaving LFC and moving around has found that connection once again with our club.
He won't be around forever though, I get that but his decision to go against the grain and drop down a division to get us back up speaks volumes for the man, as it did with Shearer when he turned his back on £££ and guaranteed medals to come back home.

Steve Bull of Wolves springs to mind 13 years he spent but could of went anywhere at his peak but stopped with his club breaking there all time goal scoring record. Its a pity alot more players did not show the same ort of allegiance.

I think we benefitted from Rafa's Real Madrid experience. Real's supporters never thought Rafa was good enough to be their manager, made jokes about him and turned very nasty the moment things went wrong. We are, in virtually all ways, the opposite of Real Madrid.

These players mentioned did get paid quite a lot of money for being so loyal to be fair.
