If the money is there, and they have earned it with their performances, then
give them more money. If you can tie that in with a contract duration extension,
    all the better.

In Levy I trust on this one, because the annual wage bills from the last time Spurs were
in the CL to this, is proof enough.

In all my years (and there have been many) supporting Spurs I can't recall such a buzz going round the club especially for this exciting crop of young players committing themselves to the cause.
Long may it continue - the future is definitely blue & white COYS!

Is that photo proof that Adebayor has been decapitated and his head
    stuck on a blue cardboard cut-out ??

This should be in a previous year's Transfer Thread but life's too short to look for it. This is on 'The Mail's Website today:

Joao Moutinho revealed he came within 'minutes' of signing for Tottenham when Andre Villas-Boas was the manager.

Moutinho was in London on transfer deadline day in August 2012 as Spurs tried to complete a deal to recruit him from Porto for a then club-record £24million.

The papers were signed and submitted to the Premier League but not in time and the move could not be completed.

My memory isn't what it was but I'm pretty sure that he was in Portugal and played/was on the bench for Sporting that night?

    Woohoo!

After all the extensions are done, maybe Spurs can offer me improved terms on my season ticket! <laugh>

You are right about your memory. Porto didn't play on that night by what I can see on various sites

You're right. They played the day before in a EL qualifying game against a team from Denmark called Horses. I knew there was a reason why many doubted it would happen as he was in their squad for that game in Portugal but he must have come to London afterwards.

It might have made a considerable difference to AVB's time with us? Why do we always have to run it so late?

Marseilles sporting director Gunter Jacob has given an interview in the French press confirming what we pretty much already knew a month ago: he's the sole reason why the N'Koudou transfer was such an almighty faff as he decided he didn't like the deal the previous sporting director had agreed upon, so he wanted to renegotiate - which is hardly acting in good faith, is it?

A couple of days ago I read that in relation to transfers, Daniel Levy's preferred MO is pretty hard ball:

As one owner of a Barclays Premier League club told Sportsmail in the aftermath of deadline day: ‘Daniel likes to squeeze your balls until your eyes start to water’.

I think that others are learning the squeeze and release method.
