Morning all. A bit of positivity this morning. I know some of you dont want to know what goes on at other clubs but Everton deserve huge praise for their gesture last night. A young Sunderland mascot for the game, needs life saving treatment in America for a rare disease. His mother had an online petition thing going which was well on the way to raising the necessary cash. Everton stumped up 200k towards the fund which I thought was a fantastic gesture and restores a tiny bit of faith in the money bags sport we support. As for tonights game, Monk will pick whatever favourites he wants and seemingly the players might or might not decide to turn up, who knows
Agree with Eire it was a great response from the away team, wonder if Sunderland will now be shamed into contributing. Defoe was also great with the kid from the tunnel and on the pitch too. Guess Moyes was peed off at that result and Moyes said yesterday that if he had Lukaku when he was there he would have had them in Europe, yeah right. We will soon see just how good Moyes is because first the Dutch guy saved them and then Big Sam saved them bet Moyes wont.
Morning. I have to agree with glory. I took my boys to their first game Saturday. My first time in the family stand. I have to say i was surprised how many grown men were there without kids. I even told one of these blokes to mind his language. I know swearing is part of being in the crowd. I just don't think you should book a ticket in the family stand if that's how you are.
Morning all, Have to say, Hemase, that kids are allowed in all sections of the ground now - even ESL31. It used to be a sanctuary for swearing adults, but no more. It's possible I may not last the season!
Bottom line: Monk is going nowhere, no matter the results IF there is an imminent takeover planned. The new boys will inherit that decision. If no takeover, Monk will do himself serious harm if he doesn't win, more if he loses, and even more if he loses and plays Green. With Green, it seems that Cellino has more patience than the fans. Changed days, eh? I don't anticipate too many changes, but I think that it is loud & clear that Mowatt should never, ever play LM in a 4-4-2 ever again. Another potential decision that may be Monk's undoing. I think there must be something going on with Roofe. Paid a lot of money for him, but he's a bit part player, at best. Is this because it was Evans that set up his signing? Was up watching the u23s yesterday. Transpired first team were training at 5pm. Dallas turned up about 2pm & watched the u23s. Nice to see.
Good news as should be playing with the u23s till he leaves. At least he will already know who is playing where. Possibly the most disappointing signing in recent times given his billing. Agree 109% about monk. If sacked Cellino ain't selling.
Lots of rumours circulating that he ain't selling anyway - just selling a minority stake IF he loses his pending court case as he now has nobody left to run the club in his absence - also his old "Director of Football" has been on the training ground and at matches - if he was selling, then he wouldn't need to employ this bloke - if that happens, its a sure sign They could even suspend Cellino as early as Thursday as the disciplinary hearing over transfer bung for McCormack is sat!!
If a parent takes their children into another part of the ground then what they hear is down to the parent. But surely the family area should be for families. It was the group's of men without children that bothered me. There are plenty of other places the stadium where that is acceptable. As glory said, it's the people taking advantage of the cheap kids tickets.
I think the bit I forgot to mention is that I don't believe there is a DEDICATED family stand any more. When my kids were little, you didn't get into it unless you had a kid with you. These days, they'll sell seats to anyone, anywhere. And ticket abuse is probably rife too. Serves the club right if they don't monitor it.
There will be plenty of room in the 'Patience Stand' but a bit of a squeeze in the 'Sack The Twat Stand'. many jumped over the fence from the 'Sitting on the Fence Stand'. 12-0 win tonight Monk will be ok for a while.
I agree Shaks and with his gormless demeanour he doesn't exactly inspire confidence that he'll turn things around **** knows what these coaches do when they get their coaching badges. It's as though they try to be too clever when really it's not rocket science. Sign the players you want, a few leaders, a few nasty bastards, a half decent keeper and one or two with that little bit extra about them that can change a game, and play them in their natural positions. Get a siege mentality going, a never say die attitude, bit dirty, bit cynical, a little bit of flair It's not complicated ffs
Talking of kids seats. Sat at LBA and there is a Geordie couple with two little bastards screaming the building down. No parental control. Everyone he thinking the same thing. Please not on my plane and certainly not near me. If they are getting on my plane glory will use his diplomatic skills.
sounds like they are having a hard time poor little mites just their luck to get a seat next to you might be good for them though. you can bore them to sleep like you do us
