There was reports of bid for about 6 different goalkeepers over the last couple of days. Not a sniff of a bid for a striker. Moyes has stated repeatedly that there's tight budgets at play. Common sense and logic tells me there was enough time to do better and the thing holding us back was budget.
I thought that but there were funds to bring in two lads for the future who, atm anyway, look to be no better than the academy lads we`ve already got and the record fee paid for N`dong who may or may not be special. Beyond me mate it really is.
Not about the money on fees for me, it's was about having enough in the kitty to address what needed addressing. Holes all over again, holes nobody would leave them if they had the budget to fill them.
Were they taking the piss out of you mate? Ancelotti is doing a good job at Bayern pal, but should Moyes get sacked, I can't think of a reason as to why he wouldn't jump at the chance of taking the reins at SAFC.
At the end of last season we had a good team that only needed two or three additions plus M'Vila. We seem to have gone backwards yet it didn't need to go that way.
Djilbobbafett looks very good, Manquillo and Njong are decent prospects and Janujaz adds the guile and trickery lost by Adam Johnson (hopefully he'll be more consistent!). Add in Mvilla and I'd be confident you will stay up (though perhaps it wouldn't be pretty), as it is I don't think you've got enough - another window like January and you may have been comfortable mid-table, that's what annoyed me slightly about the comments Moyes made suggesting he had time to suss out players and the it was going to be a relegation fight.
I think if Sam had still been at the helm that`s the way it would have gone, but, new man comes in and off we go again.
Had Sam stayed then I doubt we would not have been as adventurous with our attackers. For all we have no big men up front at least we have options in place of a lumped ball to Defoe.
