It seems to me that those who as Royston said acrually spent time and cash goin up to Fleetwood yesterday were by and large unimpressed with our performance. Those who didn't go are all over other forums and social media with how good the result was ,how you can't expect to win because Fleetwood are third in the table and completely ignore fact that once again our midfield was out played and out fought out gunned .
It seemed to me that Lookman had a licence to wander , would @Miketyson2007Junior agree? Yesterday wasn't one of his better games, and like with Harry Kane and England he is wasted taking the corners. I was impressed with Fleetwood, a fine example of how you can build a proper football club on finite resources. They play attractive short passing football and look to move the ball quickly. Yesterday's midfield 'battle' resembled 4 fast and buzzing wasps eluding a couple of slow and cumbersome buffalos. If Slade really has been allowed to build his own team, it is a real puzzle how a manager with that much experience of the lower leagues has allowed that horrible midfield to be born. It should be strangled at birth. I would start Bokara against Wimbledon next week.
But what a dreadful programme, unfortunately lost mine on the way home! I hope they did not sell out.
People have to accept the fact that we are now a lge one team gone are the glory days of premier lge and top half of the championship football, we are now a average lge one team. Investment in the team hasn't materialised since the Belgian dictatorship have taken over so what do people expect! I will carry on supporting Slade and this team as long as I feel they are trying their best and playing for the badge which at the moment I believe they are, it's a new team and we have to give them time and it's not their fault we are in this predicament!
But Slade put together this midfield that gets owned week in week out ...surely he deserves abit of grief for that ...he gets praise when things go well but buck stops at him as Foley Croft are his players
Of course we have to accept it, but we don't have to like it! We don't have to accept Roland's lack of ambition, otherwise we'd be quite happy to poodle along as an average L1 team for the forseeable future. It might not be Slade's fault, but if he buys in to Roland's philosophy he'll soon start getting pelters.
I wonder why squirrel face was not there. I could see Parkes in the stand, then noticed that a pointed missile was not next to them. On another holiday perhaps.
Yeah Lookman has been told he can do whatever he wants, problem is Holmes seems to do the same which would be fine if we had two really good central midfielders, we don't. Botaka played well, he deserves to start.
Some believe Fraeye was sacked. The truth is he was scared by the giant slug throwing abuse at him on a cold, Essex night. We owe Elfs a thanks.
