Morning all, first of all let's put this 'Cellino was in the dressing room after the game' rubbish to bed. Simply not true and confirmed by someone well ITK. Probably the TTGM cronies **** stirring again. I'm not at all happy with Monk, after all this time he still hasn't a clue who his best eleven are. 3 or 4 changes every game and doesn't appear to have a plan b. Players like Dave and Murphy frozen out to have Mowatt and Philips in the side and they clearly are not good enough or not ready although you might get more from Mowatt if he wasn't stuck on the wing. Players like Pablo and Grimes signed who again are either getting froze out or are not good enough. Seems to have reverted to playing 442 even though it's not his preferred formation and even worse it's not working.
Wood as a centre forward is pretty much rubbish, can't even head a ball. To be honest I'd have Becchio back over him, at least he knows how to score and he defends well.
Cellinos fault all this anyway, he should have given Evans the chance he deserved. Evans new what we needed and it wasn't eleven new players that's for sure. I'm all for stability but you just can't keep a manager because of that if it's putting you in a relegation situation. I'd give Monk another 6 or so games but if he continues as he is and we are struggling I'd get rid sharpish to give someone time to hopefully keep us up.

Next time Chris Wood misses a sitter, fans should run on the pitch and cup their ears towards him and see how he likes it.

    Morning all

Should Monk get the sack? I this point I'm getting very close to answering yes. He doesn't fill me with confidence however I do see the argument about stability.

Let's go on to Wood.... I've been calling for a new striker for months now. Wood can't score and I bet there are some decent strikers going on a free. We can't wait till january to bring in a ST it needs to be done now

I think we should try sign sessegnon on free, he solves the bigger problem. Wood gets so much unfair criticism

I guess today's presser and tomorrows match will go some way to signing Monk's fate. He may come out all guns blazing today and storm out if media get on top of him talking about him and not the Blackburn game. He may explain why he was so grumpy but I would be grumpy too after watching that and players not doing what they had trained to do?

If we get a thumping tomoz it could be curtains and I think the whole squad are aware of it too. They have to do the business if not for themselves but for the guy who has gone out on a limb for them

Morning all ... the whole team seemed to freeze on Saturday, and once again Elland Road became a fortress for the visitors ... the players seem to wilt under the pressure of must win at home, so unless they have a serious change of mentality and temperament, another shocker is on the cards tomorrow

on the Pope interview, I felt Pope's approach was frankly disgusting, and he set out to provoke Monk ... listen to the bull spouted by Hoyle on the Whelan show on Friday about this so-called "Huddersfield identity" and then listen to the post-match garbage on BBC Leeds where they bang on about this "identity" thing, pathetic ... Wagner has set his team up in a simple manner, kick the fcuk out of the opposition, fight and be physical, and grab what you can ... Town won't win the League, and they won't get promotion ... their high tempo pressing game will catch up with them as the season progresses and Winter sets in ... if BBC Leeds and their emotional, unobjective team think Town have an "identity" on the pitch, then they should consider rather commentating on curling ... the Pep Barcelona team had an identity, the Brazil 70 team had an identity, Town are simply a hard Championship team with nothing unique about them, battling away and riding their luck

Cellino has got to remain calm and let Monk get on with it ... we have good enough players, it's the attitude that needs to change, and the players need to start taking the responsibility for non performance ... you almost get the impression that the Leeds players are expecting Monk to get the sack before Christmas, so they don't fear the manager because they will get at least a couple of chances under another two new managers before the season is over ... Monk needs to stay for the season, it is the only way Leeds will turn it around, and Cellino needs to spend some money in January when Taylor will probably be sold

as for this "Evans should have stayed" nonsense, please stop ... Evans was never good enough to manage Leeds, he most certainly knows how to talk himself up, but Leeds was a step too far for his abilities ... managers of Evans and Hockaday's ilk must never again be allowed to darken the Elland Road doorway, it's just plain insulting

Leeds have the ability to beat Blackburn, but the players have got to show the attitude on display at Sheff Weds ... that mentality now needs to manifest itself, and then we will see a different Leeds ... there is no doubt that the shadow of Cellino will always hang over the dressing room, and Monk needs to figure out how to ensure this does not affect his team's attitude ... the Rovers game will be very telling and probably very decisive ... win and there is something to build on, because this Championship is very topsy-turvey and every club will have it's bad run as always, and hopefully Leeds are getting theirs out of the way early doors ... lose tomorrow and Monk may well lose the dressing room bit by bit, and ultimately lose his job as well ... must-win has never taken on greater signficance than the Rovers game, and if the response of the players to "must-win" so far is anything to go by, then Monk will need every ounce of his abilities to get a performance from his players tomorrow

Evans as a manager has achieved far more in his career than Monk ever will. I just don't see how anyone rates Monk so highly, please update me on what he has achieved?

Inherited a Laudrup Swansea team, first transfer window that opened sent them crashing down in the wrong direction and got the sack..

    And afternoon to you <ok>

You make it sound as though they're bad qualities to have. I wish we had some of those traits.

They're exactly the things that'll get you promoted, high pressing, battling, physical, simple football

I'd love it if Leeds played like that, up and at em, sometimes dirty but in a clever way, sometimes cynical, in fact that used to be our identity

Now we're just a roll over soft as ****e team with no fighting spirit

you SHOULD have kept Evans he got your players playing he knew your strengths and weaknesses and knew who and what possitions needed strengthening he was 100% committed, he had compiled a list of players he wanted and had given this to Cellino <ok>

    that was his downfall <yikes>

    Forza spot on mukka <ok>

I've said the same thing about Wood the whole time (I'd like to add he wasn't a player I wanted at the club in the first place), he would be perfectly fine alongside a striker that can get 20 goals a season. He isn't very good but can get 10/15 goals a season. Alongside someone decent there would be fewer complaints. Why Roofe isn't starting up front is beyond me, I truly believe he could be a big player for Leeds.

    100% agree.

And say what you want about Evans, if he was still in charge we would have more points on the board. We played really simple stuff with him in charge 'cos he knew the players couldn't do any ****ing better.

I am told that Monk will keep more or less the same team that lost to Huddersfield.

O'Kane is expected to replace Phillips.

Personally I'd drop Wood, and play Hernandez in between midfield and attack.

Lover, you been taking your meds?

I have to agree with much of this, and maybe it's blind optimism but a lot of knowledgable people bigged Monk up, so I think he'll turn it round and should be given time.

Fix it later if we have to, for me. Evans wants the job back. <ok>

Easy. Monk didn't sign him. He was an Evans 'find' & Cellino completed the deal.

TBF, he's been far from brilliant. He's been played out on the wing, though, so perhaps the best is yet to come if he goes up front. Wonder if he'll get a chance to strike in the next League Cup game?

We'd still have the same problem. They need the ball to score. Midfield & FBs seem incapable of providing it.

Hopefully they'd give a lot of movement to create space for the pass from midfield. Would hope Roofe could also pick up a shorter pass and run at defences. Remember Rod Wallace used to pick the ball up deep on occasions and did this, enjoy:
