It's happened before. Apparently it's not that common and it is a big deal.....

Out of curiosity (because tickets are still for sale) I had a look at availability for this match. Should be a good crowd...all areas are nearly sold out or limited.

Do you think the crowd could turn that toxic in 5 matches? Not even Manchester United fans turned that hostile towards Moyes or LVG at the beginning. Only Chelsea fans were toxic at the outset with the appointment of Rafa, And what thanks did they give him for guiding them towards that European trophy win?

Well, in truth we've already had European football at both venues. Every time before the squad wasn't big enough or deep enough in quality to cope with two competitions. Any cynic could think that this season they done the same deliberately.

Spurs fans could never bring themselves to sing George Graham's name. So during his brief tenure at whl he became "the man in the raincoat"

Heavens know why anyone should be booing. Okay - we are no in great shape at the moment and I have expressed disappointment over the transfer market dealings but I don't believe for a minute that the club, management and players deserve criticism. I do believe this season will be tough for us but nobody should be booing the players for their efforts.

I heard some fans boo after the Watford game....I mean first game of the season!! Some fans are like kids with a sense of entitlement who perhaps should support a bigger club where they can whinge about finishing second. I cannot see myself ever booing Saints, but the only reason would be if they all gave up and didn't try and that didn't happen. It is easy to support when your team is winning...real fans stick there through thick and thin.

Chap in front of me was singing "you don't know what you're doing" at Puel last time at home. He's a cock but that sort of disease can be catching in the Northam.

I would never boo the team, or criticise them loudly - if there was even a slight chance the player could hear, I'd be mortified.
If we are playing really badly, I like to discuss it with my mate. But shouting negativity/abuse... What good does it do? A lot of football fans have to be really thick.

Looking forward to getting my first proper look at Puels team and the diamond this week. Only managed to see one game so far and that was United on a dodgy stream.

I stand there so I should agree with you but it does bring out a degree of herd mentality, hence my comment.
