I thought I was the only one who found Hoos to be a knob. Seems not.

I like Hoos. Seems to be good at his job after years of gross mismanagement. He's in charge of a business which has a small turnover and employees earning millions a year. I don't blame him for doing what he can to find ways to save a few quid.

Is the fans' forum really the place for people to air personal gripes about small issues like a name being on a seat? Is it really that important to people?

I'd say it was the perfect place for the issue to be raised. This seems to me to be an own goal by the club and Hoos in particular. Are you a ST holder, Watford?

    Not any more.

I could be wrong but I thought the forum was meant for the major issues affecting the club and its future. I think small stuff affecting individuals is better dealt with by contacting the club and speaking to someone probably lower down the chain than Hoos or Ferdinand.

It is small stuff in the scheme of things, but it effects nearly10,000 supporters, most of whom seem to be somewhat pissed off about it. If they'd never put names on seats, it's unlikely that there would have been a clamour for it to be done - but having done it, it's a mistake to go back on it in my opinion. Why couldn't they put an extra two quid on the cost of the ST if they're scratching around for twenty grand?

If any ST holders believe a bit of plastic on the back of your seat is so important, my advice is to go to your local DIY store and ask them to print you a bit of plastic with your name on it. You can then stick it on your own seat in the ground as and when it suits you. That way, you will not bore the rest of the club with such a trivial issue. Alternatively, make your own sticker and bring some sellotape with you to the next match. Sorted.

That seems to be the reaction of most non-ST holders Finglas. Just for fun I've set up a poll on this - why not cast your vote?

I used to be a ST holder for many years Stroller and I was one when the names were first put onto the seats. I remember feeling proud as seeing my name printed on the seat. If they took it away after one game, it wouldn't have bothered me in the slightest.

I either think he's spot on or having a go at people who don't deserve it - I suppose that means he is a good writer. Without looking back at it again I thought the old men banging on bit was about the bloke with the first question who talked a long time without without asking a direct question, about the care needs some of our old time greats have today (he exampled Stan and Frank Sibley), and I think thought the Club should still be doing more to help them.
