From the small interview with Henriksen and his stats on Whoscored, he's a box to box midfielder with a good work rate. Why leave that out wide? Seems daft to me. We had against Burnley both Huddlestone and Meyler pushing on. Henriksen and Mason will replace those two in my opinion
Dio hasn't been playing wide left, he's been playing as support to Hernadez when going forward. The only time he goes wide is when tracking back to protect Robertson.
Jakupovic was in absolutely no way responsible for the goal on Saturday. If they're looking for a an excuse to drop him to replace him with Marshall, it will be for the odd bit of wayward kicking, rather than letting in an unstoppable shot.
Isn't this a similar argument to when Roy played 3 forwards in the friendly before the Euros and they had to split when defending. You still end up starting most of the attacks from the wider areas. It just seems strange to play a box to box central midfielder there.
My understanding of his style was an attacking midfielder, rather than box to box, which it more Mason's style. He is more a Snoddy type than a box to box. Markus Henriksen is a Norwegian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League side Hull City, on loan from AZ. He will permanently sign for Hull in January 2017. Wikipedia
Snodgrass is worth millions to us, when he picks up the ball you feel things could happen, him and Curtis are the first names on the team sheet right now, if Henricksen is pacier than Huddlestone I'd switch them, although Huddlestone's little turn did win us the free-kick from which Snodders scored
I've never understood why people are so bothered about the speed of central midfielders. People used to go on and on about Cairney being too slow and it's the same now with Huddlestone. Surely there's more to the game than just running fast.
True! But in the top league we come up against players with it all Talent & Pace which is useful in both attack & defence.
My issue with Tom is his speed on the ball more than everything. He always seems to want to take 2/3 touches before getting a pass off and the whole attack just seems to drop a pace
Toure always looked like he was just wandering around, waiting to take the free kicks which they were awarded just outside the penalty area.
