    100,000 names = a parliamentary debate.

Currently the govt. e-petition to keep F1 free-to-air is the second most popular petition behind the death penalty. If we can get more names than they have, we may get more publicity. They are getting loads of media attention tonight. We are starting to get a little.

Please sign, we've nothing to lose and much to gain.

The site is a bit cranky due to its popularity but please bear with it and help.

    Let's have a mass debate!

More importantly, it needs to be posted on every open BBC F1 blog, but in a way that the thought police will struggle to justify removing as spam.

It's about 100 new people every 5 minutes, so 1200 every hour. Though it did crash multiple times.

Well Ben sky G's blog has been closed but people have moved over to Jake's blog for a more encouraging discussion on the subject. Also, it's "reactively moderated" so it's more free to post too. There are reminders there about the petition. F1 is my only sport really, so I'm not familiar with other BBC blogs. Perhaps those who know better can spread the word there.

I'm affraid us mods don't have the power to create global thread. I'd suggest PM'ing MaltesseMick <ok>

The petition is closing today, which renders it impotent if the objective is to reach 100,000 signatures. Please note the red bit of this copy/paste:

Keep Formula 1 Free To Air in the UK

Responsible department: Department for Culture, Media and Sport
Formula 1 will be shown half on BBC and half on Sky from 2012. Formula 1 signed the Concorde agreement which specifically states that viewing should be "free to air where possible". The UK has great coverage already by the BBC, which shows it is possible. This petition is to show the support of F1 in the UK and keep it free to air.

So you don't care about a corrupt company that hacks victims of 7/7 and other multiple murder victims. Not including them tapping the royal family, manipulating the British government and general public, having too much power to put their bias views across so as to squeeze ever drop of blood from this country for their own selfish needs.

That's not including the other countries that are starting to look into Murdoch's empire on how far his reach really is...

Tbh I don't give a **** if it's a separate division in their company, its still ruled by the same toss pot family, that needs to be banged up.

BskyB have too much power and need to be stopped, if F1 is the start of that process, then good...
