Snodgrass surely has a better strike rate than Geovanni, and I would say the best I've seen since the sixties. Odd ones of Geo's were perhaps further out/more spectacular. Snoddy gets my vote.
The thing with Daws was he only ever seemed to take free kicks when they were in his favoured position. But that's probably true for most free kick specialists. Who was the best taker ever? Beckham? Ronald Koeman?
Dunno but Roberto Carlos was the most overrated. Hang on didnt that Juninho, not the Boro one, score loads of great free kicks??
Rogerio Ceni was probably the best set piece taker in his position. 128 goals, all from free kicks and penalties. An unbelieveable set piece record. For a goalkeeper.
For the olde I was at that game as well. He also scored a few for Leeds. But there great free kick taker was Peter Lorimer who must have been one for the all best.
GoodPost!! When you are reading through a thread hoping no one has mentioned it so you can post it..lol
Juninho was easily the best FK taker ever. Beckham was definitely up there, top 5. In terms of City, I think Daws and Snoddy are better takers than Geo, but Geo's were more spectacular. A bit like Cristiano Ronaldo - not a very good taker (definitely overrated in that aspect) but when he scores them they're bloody good ones.
Beckham, according to this Daily Mail analysis, had a better free-kick scoring ratio than I thought. He comes third in this list. I think it must have been all those frustrating times his efforts failed playing for England. I bet you can't guess who is numero uno at free kicks in the PL. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-kick-takers-Premier-League-history-list.html
Depends how new that article is. If it was made in the past few months, Payet might have a good shot, if it based on goals to games anyways... I'm gonna guess Zola. He scored quite a few.
