If you haven't noticed his improvement maybe you should. Hate blinkers maybe?

I don't mind people calling me a ****er, dick head or something similar. I know that I can be, so I feel they are justified.

It's pretty unfair to say that football isn't for me, though. I'm not sure I deserved that.

Passive aggressive. Passing his Rodders hate on to you. Doubt he really questions your opinion of football. If he meant it he should grace us with his footballing views, with the depth and substance you put into your posts. Because you're one of the most knowledgeable on the board. Anybody with a basic understanding of footy will be able see you've got deep interest and knowledge that goes beyond many of the one sentence throw away comments that kick about.

    Random fact.

Today in 1909 away at Notts County we drew 1-1. Only 5000 saw this spectacle.

Arthur Bridget scored. @The Relic was in goal.

What improvement? You mean the non-existent block for Boro's first goal or the way Boro waltzed round him for the second...or the goals he hasn't scored. The only person atm who is a worse midfielder is McNair. If we are ever to climb into mid-table mediocrity pretending numpties are improving is just plain inane

I'm talking about his all round play. Not individual incidents. All our players will be guilty of positioning errors throughout the season. Nobody is perfect, if they were they wouldn't be playing for us. If you can't see the improvement in his all round game fair play, but I'm not sure what games you've been watching.

Pickford had a cracking game against Southampton but was undone by one mistake. Did you define his entire performance by that single mistake too?

Coincidence. I'm not superstitious. He's been in teams last season(even though he was ****e) when the games have been lost or drawn from the fullback positions. In fact most of our games last season were lost/draw from the fullback positions. So he's got no direct influence on all the defeats he's been in. Going forward it's the lack of Attacking midfielders or forwards who can hold up, retain and bring others into play to create more chances being the problem. We relied on Defoe being clinical off a minimum amount of chances last season. That for me is down to the type of player we didn't have rather than the type of players we did have.

Just coincidence for me. He's improved this season for me, he's pressing space better and using his strength better imo. But those views shouldn't be confused thinking I'm saying he's a good player. I'm not saying that, just that he's improved. Needs to continue if we're not to have wasted that 10m. He's got a lot of improving still to do.

He has improved and I'm pleased about that but it's hard to swallow that the stat doesn't mean anything.

Sunderland has played 79 games in the Rodwell era. They have won 16 of those. So, SAFC wins (16/.5)% of the time when Rodwell does not start.
The probability of this team losing 29 matches in a row is .68^29 or 0.000014. Since 0.000014^(-1) = 71985, there is about one chance in 72000 that Rodwell is not a factor in the losing streak.

    So there's a 1 in 72,000 chance that Rodwell isn't ****. I... don't like those odds.

Seriously though, I'm still a long way from rating him but he is showing the improvement under Moyes that I hoped he would. I hope I'm not saying this in five years time but the jury's still out on him for me.

No worries though, if Rodwell starts tomorrow, we will surely win! KTF.
