Waiting in the car park waiting to get out. Happy with the point - good effort. Our shape was much better after Taylor went off - Barrow gave us another outlet. A brave move by Guido or was Taylor injured? Cork for me - and those around us - worked hard but was like Marmite. Ponderous at times, and nearly always looked to pass backwards. Fer did well. Ki was ok, Fernandez was better today. Fabianski was excellent - and a nice late cameo from Rangel.
Mixed feelings. A great game for the neutral for sure but we should have been dead and buried at half time. Outclassed and outplayed all over the pitch. It was excrutiating. We picked it up second half but there were some poor refereeing decisions, including the fact that Costa dived and should have got a second yellow (thereby being unable to score the equaliser) but Fer clearly fouled Cahill as well for the goal. Fer is winning me over, Barrow continues to impress, Gylfi is improving, Llorente remains lacklustre, Taylor was gash....oh and if anyone thinks we haven't got the worst centre backs in the Prem they need to think again. The result? Fantastic. Guidolin rode his luck today but you need that over a season and I'm chuffed with a point.
And only created 1 clear cut chance. Not saying that our defending was great but we did manage to keep them out and limit thier chances. Costa could have easily got a hatrick and missed a tap in. After that display I'm feeling more confident but I think we really need Baston fit.
I thought Taylors reaction to being taken off was pedantic and unprofessional, childish even. I'd drop him down to the U23's and let him rot there.
I'm not convinced by our CB's but I think the worst ATM goes to Stoke. For me the weak link is Fernández. Amat will grow into a top defender soon IMO
I'm gobsmacked that any manager would back down publicly over a substitution. Decisions have to be taken - tough decisions. That's what the manager is paid for. Taylor is turning into a right prima donna.
I still find it unfathomable that Fernandez ever got picked for his country. I mean, come on. It's not Moldova, it's Argentina.
Terrible display. Chelsea blew that and were by far the better side.......Eden Hazard down the left, into the box, great hold-up play from Diego Costa to Cesc Fabregas - blocked! Chelsea have had 25 efforts on goal... Dont shoot the messenger
I dont agree - the important thing is to play it down and not publicly create an issue. If words have to be said they should be said behind closed doors. I do agree though Taylor should be put in his place
