Yep, going. Still trying to wangle the following day off, as I don't fancy the drive back to London after the game. Buzzing already though, yesterday is history.
Hopefully Clasie is fit, because he did impress yesterday alongside MOTM Romeu. But then again, there's also Sunday to think about. Given that I know very little about Sparta, I don't know which of Jay, Long and Austin would make the most sense. None of them have exactly set the world alight this season so far (although that hasn't always been their fault).
It's my opinion. It would be nice to see a 6-1 spanking but alas I feel on current form we would need 50 clear-cut chances to get that many.
I think the atmosphere for this one will be very positive. Our first proper European game. The reward for all of last season's work. I don't think these opening four games will have any bearing at all on that. Puel I am convinced will have the fans on his side. However, if we don't win, I think the atmosphere against Swansea could be bordering on toxic. Maybe not at KO, but if after 20 mins things aren't going for us, every misplaced pass or incorrect piece of decision making etc could be jumped on. The pressure on us to win that one would be huge, almost regardless of performance. As much as I am looking forward to Thursday, I will not be looking forward to Sunday should we slip up.
We are, indeed. Still working out agenda to see if we can make it to the pub beforehand. School night and all. Vin
Off on a river cruise on Tuesday...have instructed one son and two friends to send me the result....hopefully one will remember before I chew my nails to my armpits.
Thanks to FLT I will be watching the right week (as I was planning to watch last week) and the kick off will be at 23.05hrs for me - but being a Thursday night; the weekend starts Friday! Will be able to watch live too on TV thankfully.
Heading down after school (my son, not me), picking Dave up en route and the pub will all be dependant on traffic! Tougher mid-week.
