This is what Puel's insistence on playing Davis as right CM is like: please log in to view this image
Same way we know that certain people will always beat the same drum about the same subject despite being totally wrong headed. We've seen it happen many many times before.
I didn't really notice him get into the game but then I was listening to the exciting Tranmere v Lincoln on the radio at the same time.
Bobby Madley is also the ref that decided that he should warn the Tottenham player about pulling shirts in the Tottenham v Pool game as he wrestled the Liverpool player to the ground. This was another case of "Bobby Madley's rules."
Puel's interview with BBC http://bbc.in/2cfvsFh Such a negative line of questioning, from a supposedly neutral broatcaster. Begun to make me wonder if Tom actually has a woman's voice
The board should have no reason to complain if we finished 12th-15th. Based on the level of investment we make compared to others it's difficult to demand much more from the manager and/or coaching staff. They also chose to appoint that manager as they believed he'd be the one who could work on a shoestring. Only the board to blame if it turns out that there's not enough goals in the team and we actually have to consider a dogfight at any point. Please note the 'compared to others' part of the 2nd sentence. We can't expect them to want to run the club differently, but similarly they can't expect results that are massively out of line with the levels of investment compared to other clubs.
Spot on. They choose to start the season with only 1 fit striker who isn't the most prolific of goal scorers. Redmond is not a mane raplacement. Wanyama has not been replaced. What on earth do they expect?
To no-ones surprise, no mention of the Long foul or Koscielny being near KO'd in the six yard box... Brushed swiftly on to talk about Arsenal's new signings.
Compared to others, as in the Top 6 teams? Just like Koeman was brought in to work on a shoestring budget as people have said? £45 million was spent on 4 players over the Summer. Would say that's a pretty good chunk of money used.
Compared to others as in all of the other 19 clubs 8ball. I'm not panicking, I was just responding to beefy saying the board wouldn't have a lot to complain about at this stage. If they do, they've probably got unrealistic expectations of what's possible with the amount we've invested compared to the other 19 clubs. This isn't just about the big 6. We could've done with another 2-3 first team players if we are serious about getting back into Europe via any means next season. Certainly a CB to compete with Fonte or allow him a game or two out without a dip in performance, another creative AM/W, and a goalscorer who can actually combine Long's movement with Austin's finishing would have been good.
Ok. I have watched 2 Saints games, live over here in Canada. The Sunderland game, although I didn't think it was a penalty, in my opinion, a draw was a fair result. Today's game, we did enough to earn a point, ruined by a referee, who up till then, had a good game. No panic on my end. Saints played bloody well today.
