I think we have been pretty lucky over recent years with free kick takers. It's a decent tool to have in your locker.
Yep, Dawson and Geovanni have been mentioned, Brady was a threat from them too. And now we have Snoddy and Maloney!
I always thought Huddlestone was a good dead ball specialist and scored the odd long shot never did owt for us though.
It's strange, he has the best technique of any City player I've seen, yet his set pieces aren't very good. He rarely seems to hit them with any pace, even though I'm pretty sure he's capable of it.
I think Huddlestone could be an option for when a bit further out when there's not as many people in he wall. He does hit a powerful shot.
I agree, but even in situations like that he more often than not tries one of those dippy swerving shots, which he's had mixed results with.
Brady was hit and miss when he was with us but he has become a phenomenal set piece taker over the past two years with Norwich and Ireland...his corners come in with pace and bend...and at just the right trajectory (low). Very difficult to defend. Snodders however has become equally dangerous and I always feel we have a chance of scoring when he is taking FKs in front of goal...like today...and Man U. the other week which totally beat DeGea but just curved wide. Since Brady only reached his present excellence after leaving us, I'd give it to Snodgrass, with Geo second, and Andy third. The opposition has to be very careful about fouling our players within Snodders range this year. He could easily be worth 10 points or more!!
