As much as this is a positive, Leicester are back to the team they were before and are once again a team we should be looking to finish above.
We all want Puel to succeed, but it doesn't always work out that way. As I said I am not calling for Puel's head, I am saying we need a win soon.
Apologies! After spending a good wad of cash on an away day only to have inept officiating spoil it I'm not totally there at moment!
That may have been down to him playing a hard International game midweek perhaps? ---------------------------------- Well, it does not get easier. Two games a week forever coming up.......
Ignore last post - not too sure what happened and can't seem to edit on phone. Was gonna say board will advise, or maybe force, a change of formation before Puel is sacked. As per the rumours when Koeman was struggling last year. Think he'll get at least till Christmas, we don't seem to be too trigger happy although a lot of that will be down to our recent success. It's been a tricky start to the season, and I didn't see the game today but it sounds like we were completely ripped off. We need to be taking the EL somewhat seriously just to build confidence, and for what it's worth I think Puel will. As a club were obviously very proud to have qualified, a lot of effort has gone into marketing us as a European team and I can't see the board hiring someone who would just piss it away. That said we need to start getting results in the league. Way too early for Puels head, I don't even think he's under pressure yet, but we need a win soon just for us fans' sake if nothing else!
Romeo has finally got a manager that understands him, puel was a very similar player, limited in quality but would give the team 100%
Thought Romeu was very Jimmy Case like today he plays that role better than Vic and a lot less likely to to sent off too.
Putting aside my obvious annoyance of the shockingly inept ref and the injustice of today's result, I am feeling more upbeat about things. It's ridiculous and inappropriate to be discussing dispensing with the Manager. We've had 4 games - lost to Man U and Arsenal away. We did play poorly in both home games but managed to get a point in both with new players, new system, unrest from the captain etc etc. Puel undoubtedly has strengths in bringing out the best in young players (pretty good ones at that - Henry, Hazard etc) and we simply can't expect everything to turn to gold instantly. We need a "moment" to spark and gel the fans with the manager and get back the siege mentality, we march on as one etc My sights are lower this year because of what we have on our plate. But, if we can acquit ourselves in the Europa well, cement a safe league position and have some fun in the cups I would be very pleased. We have to be in this for the long haul. I work in Lille a lot with colleagues who go to watch Lille - or did - but have not renewed this year as they believe they have no excitement in their team now that Boufal has joined Saints - they rate him that highly. We have lost some great players - it can't be ignored and they are all doing pretty damn well right now. I do fear that we are really struggling up top for goals and may need to address that in the next window. But we still have a lot of very good players, perhaps not being played in their optimum positions. If we can string some performances and wins the feel good factor is going to come thundering back. Let's just put all of our energies into getting behind the team and the manager, starting with a cauldron atmosphere on Thursday.
About 30 seconds before the Long 'foul' I was commenting on how well the ref was doing............! The linesman must take a lot of the responsibility for missing a clear foul about a metre from him. We played well, missed a couple of chances and I've rarely been so annoyed. Swansea is a big game now. We need to win before being unlucky becomes a habit. What is it with Long by the way? Seems he will actually have to be killed before he wins a fee kick.
I for one thought we would lose easily today and just try to keep the score respectable.... However we were much better than I expected......until the travesty of the non penalty being given we kept them to only one shot on target. If only Shane had his scoring boots on we could have even won.
Yeah, was going to say Arsenal only had two shots on target today, including the pen. We restricted them well in that sense. I just hated seeing Tadic central focal point and Long trudging up and down the left wing. I'm just not going to be able to get my head around that any time soon.
