Well he hasn't been brought in to be first choice, he's a young lad with a good rep who was cheap. It's not much of a gamble. I'll always remember Evans for his goal against Leeds.
Meylers away to the left. Its right down the middle and again the ball goes over Huds head. That just doesnt happen for a CM.
Well, why is he left then? He's playing as a central midfielder, so he was out of position. If you get turned, then you get turned, I suppose that's life but it was the space he had to run into that annoyed me, nobody really came out to meet him until the very last second. The whole thing just looked half arsed.
Would henrikesen bury the diomande chance Would marshall save the defour shot Would mason of created and broke up more than huddlestone On the other side burnley beat liverpool A decent point buuuuut what could of been three if we'd been ruthless with team selection
There would have been better options that would probably have been just as effective, or probably more effective and probably less expensive. I don't know much about his injury or when he got his injury. But he hasn't scored really wherever he has been. That's at a considerably worse level than we're expecting him to compete at. Strange signing for me and disappointing we probably paid for the pleasure.
We currently have 7 points after four games, I expected us to have none at this point of the season having made no signings. I am not a Meyler fan but this season he has been excellent and his attitude probably sums up the teams performances. He might not be as good as some other PL players but he doesn't let that affect and he just gives everything he has and hopes that's enough. I reckon we could of played on the front foot more and caused Burnley more problems, but Burnley pushed us quite high which didn't allow us to play the ball out very often. When we played it long it kept coming back at us. Overall, it's a point gained. We might go down, but for once I am watching a City side where every single player is giving their all, it might not be the most attacking, enthralling football but each one of them comes off that pitch giving their all. After all the negativity that's going on, lets be happy with the seven points we have and enjoy it!
Suppose we should be happy getting a late draw against our bogey team, but this was an opportunity missed. Our mid-field build ups were far to slow and left no opportunity for the strikers to get open. When he got the ball Diomande's distribution was poor and hopefully Mbokani will be fit to play next week. Mason for Huddlestone should bring more energy to our mid-field play.
For me the issue was there was no link up between the midfield and Hernandez, the gap was too large, hopefully this is what Henriksen has been brought in for. Mbokani will also give us the option of playing the ball a bit longer.
Doesnt matter who plays its the tactics. Contain contain contain. Slow it down go backwards and launch it. This is the weakest PL for years, it should be a piece of piss to stay up. We wont unless we go out and try to win games, especially games against **** like this.
Who? Apparently we paid a £1 million, not an exorbitant amount nowadays and could be regarded as a punt. Please supply names, then we can ascertain whether others on here think they would have been better or worse.
Funny how such a rubbish team beat Liverpool 2- 0 in their last home game. Of course they aren't rubbish. But hey, there are some on here would rather not see the positives in our performance.
I'm sure that I used to find you quite level-headed. We finished 4th in the Championship last season, get a grip.
Hit the bar hit the post miss an open goal defend to the point were they had one meaningful effort which they score from and still there are people that moan .. had we taken our chances we would have comfortable come away with three points today .. some of you need to get a grip on reality .. today could have easily been 3 points .. as it is its a point gained away from home against a Burnley team who's last home game resulted in them turning over Liverpool
http://www.worldsoccer.com/news/free-agents-the-players-that-no-one-wants-387531 Free signings, we'd probably have got away with a one year contract as opposed to a fee and a 3 year contract or whatever Keane was rewarded with. If you're that interested to look at alternatives go and have a look yourself
WTF level headed. Did you see Burnley? what did you think of them? Brilliant side? Too good for us to go out and attack them? They had nowt and looked nowt. **** knows how they beat pool. I dont ****ing care. I watched them against us. they were ****ing terrible and we just plodded along not looking to win the game.
I'm okay with the result, but why be loyal instead of being realistic? Are we frightened to start players who we bought in for a reason?
