I've been looking at a lot of racing today but the 6.10 Boomerang stakes Is the race I keep coming back too Will Hit It a Bomb have gained the improvement to turn the tables on Tribal Beat? Is Awtaad going to prove too much for both...
Very impressive from Aluce Springs. When shes up for it she looks lethal. Qemah hasn't done La Cressonniere's form any favours there.
I wonder is Alice Springs difficult to train, 4 wins from 14 runs. Her ability would hint that she should have a better conversion rate possibly. And when she wins they are always cosy 2+ length wins. One extreme or the other with her.
I will be fascinated to know why... She was third to her stablemate in the Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas), when she was favourite against her unfancied, unbeaten rival. Since then Qemah has stuck to a mile whilst La Cressonniere has taken the Prix de Diane and the Prix La Nonette over ten furlongs and remained unbeaten.
She didn't beat qemah to the extent that Alice Springs has just done. Regaurdless of the trip she has just got beaten five or six lenghts here and LC only beat Qemah abd Nathra by a lenght or two. I would suhest Minding would have beaten them further. People just seem to get carried away when it comes to French form and then their horses come over to Britain and Ireland and get put in their place.
Looking forward to the big one here. Should be a great race but its a big field and there has to be a hard luck story somewhere for one or two good horses. Pace will be fascinating and you would think the Harzand pacemaker is going to set this at a blistering tempo to bring his stamina in.
Minding for me Toppy, just think she is an exceptional filly. I would compare her favorably with the likes of Salsabil, In The Groove and latterly Zarkava and Treve. Hope she proves me right here. First race I've been excited about the whole flat season (still not betting though).
Hows that for La Cressonniere? Theyve won the "best race of all time" with the second string Minding and Harzand shouldnt bother making the trip Also, Alice Springs was beaten 4L by LC in the French Guineas, Qemah ought to have been second today with a decent trip, she had a nightmare from start to finsh.
Only kidding Boris- just wanted to say that that line. The French are perfect at poopigna party aren't they. Can't argue with that- he won very well.
Of the big two, Harzand was the first one beaten as he was under pressure before the turn into the straight. I could see that Moore was angling to take Minding up the rail but there was no hard luck story, he got a gap and she just was not good enough today. Soumillon sat at the back on the Prix Du Jockey Club winner and waited for those that tried to stay with the front two to fold. To my mind what really devalues the form is Found finishing second (again). Next season they will keep Alice Springs in training because she is a horse of ability but totally unreliable just like Found. My initial reaction is that Found and Almanzor ran to their best form, which makes neither of them actual champions.
