Glad ot see Bertrand back. Will be intersting to see how JRod does.... Remember last season on Boxing Day - we all thought we'd get thumped that day too!
Looks like 4-2-3-1 to me! Excellent, at least have have a chance of not being totally over run in midfield now
Arsenal: 33 Cech 24 Bellerín 20 Mustafi 6 Koscielny 18 Monreal 34 Coquelin 19 Cazorla 14 Walcott 11 Özil 15 Oxlade-Chamberlain 9 Pérez Martínez
Still early days. He is getting familiar with the players, but there is still a lot to be learned from watching them in actual games.
As a big Clasie fan, I am very happy with that line up. So long as he is there to support Romeu rather than play high up the pitch! Hojbjerg will have a lot to offer coming off the bench.
Great a half fit striker up front and our best midfielder on the bench. Really not sure what goes on inside Puel's head.
He's playing a clever game which will not go down too well with those who just look at the first 11. Hojbjerg is probably a better player on his day than Clasie but there are a lot of other things to consider including formation, rotation, freshness.. etc Personally I like his style and hope it works out. We will see a lot more players getting regulars game time and fewer getting tired / injured. As someone else has said, Hojbjerg and Long make fantastic impact subs (as does Austin and JWP). Lots of possibilities there.
It was a pot shot that the keeper should have saved. I've not seen anything from him that merits him starting.
Yeah. Not meant as a criticism, just a thought that occurred to me. The back four seems to be set - Cedric, Fonte, van Dijk, Bertrand - but the midfield and forwards keep changing. It's not even as though he's given Long and Redmond (for example) a run of games in the team. It seems to change every game.
