Silver Cross, made in Guiseley, or were. Now a housing estate. Good old English manufacturing.

I spent a large part of my "development years" living about 200 yards from there. Opposite Nethermoor, I used to love sneaking into Guiseley AFC's Unibond Premier League First Division matches without paying - can't believe that is over 20 years ago now. Remember my parents going mental at the news that Silver Cross was going to be closed and turned into 'yet more residential development'.

I was on that estate 4 weeks ago, Saturday. Great night, tad pissed, fell off the front path; gashed my shin - 3" - to the bone - fractured the bone, danced until 4am and got up to walk a dog around the cricket pitch and footy ground, did Sunday lunch, drove back to North East and went out for a bevvy with my boy. Next day the leg wasn't quite right - bloody good ale around there! <laugh>

Could have done with a pram to get around for the next week. <doh>

God I remember the old tansad, square as **** and uncomfortable to boot.....
If my memory is right we use to use the wheels and axle( metal bar joining them) to make our bogies( not sure of the spelling) Jesus we use to fly down the road using our feet for brakes!!!!
A hundred years before the Jamaican bobslay( spelt wrong... Again) team....
    God I am a ****ing illiterate !!!!!!!
