I wonder if Lazaar and Atsu will both start on the left. I can see Dummett retaining the LB spot to be honest with one of the new lads ahead of him. Apart from the risk of playing two debutants at the same time, I think Rafa will be more cautious as we are away from home and play the more defensive option in Dummett.
---------Gayle------Mitro--------- Gouffran--Shelvey-Hayden--Ritchie Dummett---Mbemba-Lascelles--Anita ------------------Darlow----------------------- This is how I hope we start. Bring the others on later.
A metric time system would be much easier. None of this 60 somethings in a minute/hour. Get everything back to 10
To maintain our winning streak ..I have to predo a draw ..though I actually think it will be a score draw ...dammit that means I should probably predo a loss.. This is all way to existential and convulted for this early in the morning 1-1
Actually it could work 100 secs in a minute and 100minutes in an hour with 10hrs in a day. Going to have problems though with days in a month though.
365 days in a year * 24 hours = 8760 hours in a year 8760 / 10 hours - 876 new days in a year. 876 new days / 10 new months - 87.6 days a month ( or to make it easier well have some days at 88 and some at 87). Just have to decide which months to get rid of... Last in first out would suggest July and August are lost. Jan Feb March Apr May Jun Sept Oct Nov Dec Would make Sept the 7th, Oct the 8th and Dec the 10th so they actually tie up with their name. Although that does all mean a day is no longer one rotation of the earth on its axis... Or we recalculate how long a second is. Maybe not quite so simple
Could have 100 days in a month for 3 months a year and 1 month of 65 days. The months could be called Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. For the sake of moral winter would be the 65 day month.* Of course there would also be 10 days in the week with a 3 day weekend. Am I thinking about this too much? *might be an issue with me only getting paid 4 times a year
Thats a good alternative. Still think mine is good just means we have to redesign how long a second is. Cant Be that much work to reprogram me every clock in the world though can it?
The basic criteria you have to meet are a day is the same length of time as before (earth rotates on its own axis in that time) and a year is same length of time as before (earth rotates around sun once so seasons are constant). Cant see it matters how long a second and minute and hour are so can just modify them to fit. That way you wouldnt have to rewrite history and geology. You would though have to modify the length of a football match. Now stop derailing our match thread.
If we're saying what was 24 hour days is now 10 hours then it's 2.4 old hours to a new hour. As such a 1.5 hour long football match will now be 3.6 hours long, or 360 new minutes. I feel this thread has only been improved by this astrological chat
Is the maths not wrong there? If it's 2.4 existing hours to a new hour then an existing 1.5 hour match is surely less than a new hour?
I don't know where it's heading with this debate about time and changing hours, days and months, but I do know that Mike Ashley will love it. He'll either pay the same hourly rate even though there will be an extra 40 minutes of working per hour. Or he'll pay the same monthly wage even though there will be just 10 months in a year. Sorted.
Instead of changing how long a second is, which is a ridiculous idea anyway, why not just detonate all nuclear bombs on one side of the planet so that the planet changes its orbit position around the sun so that the metric system of timing works in the new orbit position, without the rather stupid idea of changing the length of a scone.
