He should have been but the club was being run on a shoestring at the time and we never signed the first teamer that we all said we needed at the time. The best two CMs we have at the moment are Shelvey and Hayden so hopefully Colback won't get as much game time this season but squad rotation will come in to effect. Murphy won't play as much as the other 3 strikers, unless there are injuries or he plays out of his skin.

He needs to eat some muesli. It makes you a negative cynic apparently.

Even when most people, on here, were saying he was useless and taking the club down.

Being negative and cynical is far easier. It's commendable that Albert doesn't worry about the naysayers and sticks behind his team.

Unless they are managed by mcclaren

Smug - something that's been intriguing me for a while - Smug in Boots?

Is that Boots, as in the Chemist, or Boots as in the item of footwear, or some other Boot related item that hasn't even crossed my mind?

If it's Boots the Chemist, is it because you're proud to work there, shop there regularly etc?

Or, if the footwear - what type? Something like a Doc Martin, safety boot?

Not really losing any sleep over it, but I guess I'm just a curious soul with an enquiring mind. This may have been asked and answered previously, but I've been away being busy with life for a while, so may have missed it.....

That's for the meltdowns, fights and leaving threads. Half the Premier League boards were camped out there the other day :emoticon-0136-giggl

    All right mate?

As with everything to do with me, on the board, it's a mixture of daftness and a bit of wumming.

I originally posted as 'Smug in Antibes' 'cos I was genuinely smug at living the high life in the south of France.

I could've stuck with that but, when we came back to the UK due to impending grandchildren, I thought it more honest to change it.

I have a tradition of taking my sons to the panto, even though they're all adults and big lads, and the year I came back the panto was 'Puss in Boots'.

As I was a bit of a lad at football, back in the 70's & 80's, I thought Smug in Boots would do nicely.

    Like I say it's daft but that's me <ok>

We were a bunch of daft lads from an East Midlands pit village who went down to London for matches and must have stuck out like a sore thumb.

I suppose the NCB donkey jackets gave the game away <laugh>

We used to drive down to West Ham/Chelsea/Millwall or wherever and always manage to walk into the wrong pub <doh>
