Thats the difference between me and you, I would stay and fight and `i can guarantee most the blokes I work with would do the same.

As Steve has said we have been all through this in the previous thread, so its best to leave it here.

 

Depends what the cause is. As I said before, if I was asked to fight the Nazis I'd fight. If I was asked to fight for the Nazis I'd object. Although we have the benefit of experience to know what the ultimate goal of Nazism is. German people in the 30's were brainwashed and lied to.

And as someone else said, civil way is different, especially a civil war that was started by a foreign force.

 

And you would probably be dead.
In Syria the army is your enemy. A force with military hardware supported by Russia that bombs civilian targets.

 

... yes of course ... those staplers, spreadsheets, ploughs, trowels, sales ledgers, ladders etc will soon sort out those arseholes with the automatic weapons - many of whom are either professional soldiers or have been combat trained in 'terrorist' camps ... let me at them .. I have a larger than standard hole punch and I'm not afraid to use it

 

Do you reckon a large percentage of immigrants would fight for us if the cause was worthy?....
Or dare i say would they scarper?

 

.. if you know your history ... you would know that thousands of troops from the Commonwealth have not only fought but also died 'for us' ...during the second world war thousands of Polish refugees based in the UK 'fought for us' ...

 

Had a little table for them at the bottom of my garden..I used to feed them, found it therapeutic. Chirpy little things.

 

So you are comparing Iranians who you have met with the Housemartins who you wont say whether you have met them or not. There's a lot of people here who seem to be unwilling to answer simple questions.

I'm fully aware of the history,but i'm wafflling about the present.

 

Lots of the Commonwealth troops fought to save there own countries, IE Australia,NZ, and India in WW2, but yes they did come and die for us, which we are grateful for there help. The Polish wanted revenge on the Nazis, as as the UK was the only free European country, they joined in with us to fight back. I bet you will say the Polish pilots saved the UK in the battle of Britain next.

If you were living and working in Greece and a war kicked off with Turkey, would you fight for Greece or would you move back to Hastings sharpish?

Or are you not referring to the working immigrants (given "immigrants" is quite a catch all word) but more to the immigrants who are escaping the war we started in their country? The latter is a whole new can of worms!
