So Saudi is off then, Greece and Turkey it is.

Never realised Saudi is so bad to fellow Muslims.

Not sure it's just Saudi attitude. If it was an easy place to reach I would imagine they wouldn't have much choice. Jordan and Lebanon are taking in very large numbers. I can imagine the idea of going through Iraq isn't the safest place to go.

 

The sad thing is we would all be happy to help the genuine refugee, but too many are not. Help the Women and children but send the men back to fight. (they pick a side and go do what they want)

 

Why would the men want to fight or even get involved in the fighting. Most just want a safe and secure place to support a family and have a quiet life

 

If they don't believe in the cause of any of the warring factions then why should they have to fight? It's not the Middle Ages.

 

They're also ultimate hypocrites.

I remember one flight back from the ME. I got on at Bahrain, but the flight stopped at Riyadh on the way back. On these guys get in the full regalia. Off we go, and as soon as we're out of Saudi airspace, off come the robes. Underneath they're all booted and suited - gold Rolexes, cufflinks, etc. Now, they start on the Johhny Walker Black Label. I'm not sure if that's still the case, but they love JW black label. Hour after hour they're knocking it back, getting louder and louder, treating the stewardesses like servants. And when we finally arrive at Heathrow, they're all pissed out of their skulls. One of them had to be pretty much carried off the plane.

Or anyone for that matter. I went to Asylum Seekers Training yesterday - really interesting. They recommended this book, said it was written from Interviews from a boy that traveled from Afghanistan as a unaccompanied asylum seeker when he was 13. He is now a student at Manchester Uni.

Because men protect its children/wife, I would. I guess you would as well.

 

So they have to die, fighting a cause they don't believe in, in a war started by our country.

Easy to be so courageous and dismissive when you're safe at home in your majority white, Christian born town.

 

No I would get my family the hell out of there and then find a way to support them.
Me being dead would do nothing to ensure my families future.

 

I've lived in London pretty much my whole life. During that time I've met about, oh maybe 6 Iranians. My guess is there are considerably more people here from Hull than Iran

They've all been really nice people too (the Iranians). As for Hull, well, the Housemartins were alright.

 

So why are so many coming to europe just Men?

We've done this one before.
1. The death rate amongst women and children making the journey is 20% higher than men.
2. Families cannot logistically make the journey due to small children, cost and resources.
3. Families are prepared to send their teenage sons to look for safety but won't risk sending daughters alone.

a need?..

 

... think you need to check that your brain is fully charged before making calls ...

... look around the place you work, at the guys doing the different jobs, imagine what would happen if the town you worked in then started to be obliterated by fanatics from different sides that have very little in common with you and your little life - all of the guys you work with and you manage to get your families to another town in another country where they don't speak your language ... then you and the rest of the guys you worked with - keep them in mind - get told that the women and kids can stay - but you and your work colleagues need to go back and fight (or "do what you want").... for whom? for what? ... your destroyed home? your destroyed work place? .....or some regime or idealism that you never wanted and were never part of? ... it's OK though ... because "they are not lie us" ... wrong ... the vast majority are just like us ... when you get back to the basics of wanting to live, love, prosper ... and see a family grow up safely...

 

I would say a fair few, not the snowflakes, but the rest would.
